sporkdevil
I expect this not to go over well on the board:"Adam_SchefterBusy special teams day: Falcons working out long snappers and kickers. Expected change at long snapper, not at kicker."I guess the timing is off?"Adam_SchefterLong snappers in Atlanta today: Joe Zelenka and Jeff Robinson. Kickers in Atlanta: Matt Bryant and Paul Edinger." Edited December 1, 2009 by sporkdevil
sourdiesal
Does Elam have nude pictures of Dimitroff in a compromising position?
Statick
Maybe the timing is off. Elam is doing a little hitch-step before he goes into his kicking motion more than usual. However, its too easy to blame the LS. If he misses with the next guy, then we'll know who the real culprit is for sure.Elam.

FalconMama
Our LS had a horrible game Sunday.. While Eric Coleman had a little to do with the block punt that snap was awful. His snaps on the FGs barely came off the ground and one led to a miss FG. He had a bad game on Sunday.
Ice1974
problem is, is that he missed with the original LS tooso this will be the 3rd LS, when will these guys admit what the problem is

BirdzEyeView
UNBELIVEABLE...Everyone in the FO is apparently BLIND as HELLLLLL!!! There HAS to be something else behind the FO's reluctance to cut this guys...has to be!!
aerosmith67
such bull s###...the long snapper is not the problem. Talk about beating around the bush. LET ELAM GO!!!!!!Don't be so sure of that, the long snapper is the fulcrum to the kicking game be it a punt or field goal attempt. Considering a punt was blocked AND there was another missed FG, it's worth investigating the long snapper. Outside of my opinion, I trust the Special Teams coaches, who have the Falcons playing great special teams over anyone here.

Elam's not missing with distance he's probably missing because of timing.

IronHead34
the difference to meBryant is only 34where as Elam is 3 months shy of 40I agree. I would like Bryant (at least, I like him on paper, anyone know how he is doing in the UFL?) as an upgrade. I was surprised the Bucs set him loose. IronHead34
You also have to ask why Bryant isn't with a team currently. The bucs brought in three kickers to tryouts this year. I think Raheem just wanted to have the final decision. I think he wanted to go younger.

IronHead34
Ok so that's 1 team out of 32...If you look around the league, most place kickers are identical. From top to bottom, there is not much difference between their abilities and accuracies. Why sign Bryant if you already have a good kicker?Notice, not many teams just draft a new kicker every couple years.
Karst41
We have had multiple Bad Snaps, Bad Holds and some Awful timing issues.Elam is the easy scape goat, but if you simply replace Elam alonethe woes will continue. Guaranteed!
sporkdevil
You also have to ask why Bryant isn't with a team currently. The bucs did him dirty. He was hurt through training camp, and they cut him right before the year started, when every other team already had a kicker or two on their roster. There wasn't really a place for him to go. Rev_Hal
Elam's problem started long before our LS went on IR. I think (pure speculation) that he is still affected by the earlier hamstring injury.
ConnFalcon
Geeeeez, what is going on here. We need a guy here who we can depend on at the end of the game... I'm sure Elam is a good guy but this is a business.
insight
It's very similar to the J. Anderson situation. He should have been cut a long time ago but he was a 1st round draft pick. Elam was one of TD's big Free Agency acquisitions plus we paid allot of money to get him. I'm sure TD does not want to do that.
