college footballs compared to nfl footballs

As far as size is concerned I think they are the same.

One pretty significant difference is that in the NFL they have to use new balls for every game.

In college I don't believe that is the case.

Brand new footballs tend to be slicker.

In college you are also allowed to provide your own footballs, I know the team I played on usually used the new footballs on Thursday and Friday before a Saturday game to break them in.

College footballs are slightly wider in the middle and slightly shorter in length, though not by much compared to an official NFL sized football. The biggest difference is simply the width of the middle, thus actually making it "bigger" than an NFL football. It's not too big a difference unless you already have a hard time holding an NFL football.
