Alas, Nu'Keese, we hardly knew you.

University of Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin announced Monday that freshman wide receiver Nu’Keese Richardson and defensive back Mike Edwards have been permanently dismissed from the football team.

“After extensive and thorough research of the situation over the last four days and considering various disciplinary options, I’ve decided it’s in the best interest of our program to remove Nu’Keese and Mike,” Kiffin said. “As I’ve said many times before, we hold our student-athletes to an extremely high standard on and off the field. Our student-athletes must be responsible members of society, and this type of conduct will not be tolerated.

“We want a positive culture for our student-athletes that allows them to succeed in the classroom, on the field, and in life after college. My hope is that these two young men will learn from their terrible decision. Clearly, their actions have no place in our program.”

Janzen Jackson will continue to not be allowed to participate in team activities while Kiffin awaits additional information.

Wonder if they'll be able to stay in school on their academics alone?

Don't attempted arm robbery carry a mandatory sentence

I don't know... they have to be convicted and face sentencing from a judge.

Aren't they still in jail too?

What a couple of morons. Jackson might pull his head out of his a$$ after this with the way Kiffin handled it, but who knows. He hasn't shown he's the brightest bulb so far either.

Again Jackson's involvement isn't known for sure and even the victims have claimed he wasn't involved, if it comes out that he had a bigger role he will be gone, being in a car with someone in possession of marijuana does not justify getting kicked off a team.

dude come on.. he was in the car with a girl and they had drugs in the car.. they didn't just do this without his knowledge.. he was no victim.. so you are trying to tell me at 1:45AM he is with his wild boyz and they decide to rob this car and he had no knowledge of it.. he is still an accomplice if he knew anything about it. use some common sense here..

I am using common sense, I've been in a situation were I went out with some "friends" and they did something I didn't know they were going to do I left with them

then never spoke to them again, I'm just saying no one besides a few people know the whole story.

He was an accomplice at the very least in this and the bottom line is he is not kicked off the team due to his talent level. We won't agree here at all because IMO it's ridiculous to use the he is a victim and had no knowledge what his wild boyz were doing.

We tend to agree and disagree a lot haha, but I won't pass judgement until I know all the facts.

I'm just waiting for a disgruntled Nu'Keese to expose Lane's recruiting violations... that is of course, unless Lane paid him even more to stay quiet. :P

you aren't the only one btw.. there are plenty of others who actually have strong beliefs that kiffin and company cheated with guys like nukeese and jackson and were waiting for something to happen to either one of them so they could get them to come clean. I am not saying kiffin and company did btw, but that is what i have read on a number of boards.
