The Pats are 6-3

Falcons are 5-4

Only reason we are behind them is because they beat us in their house. Now I know what some of you are thinking, "Who cares, Wrong conference!" I was just making a point that we are only one game behind one of the best teams in the league. Now when it comes to the NFC, lets look at the top teams... NO, MIN, ARZ, DAL, ATL. All the teams in front of us are division leaders. Therefore we are in the same boat we were in last year, Highest wild card. Next week is crucial though. More important than this week because NYG is sitting at 5-4 as well. We win that and it knocks them out of wild card talk. Guess what I'm trying to say is relax people, It aint over!

I feel you!

While they're in a different conference, I had similar thoughts upon seeing the Pats lose. We have 1 more loss than them, as bad as we've been in critical situations in the past month. When you look at the landscape of the NFC...Dallas: 3 losses, Philly: 4 losses, Giants: 4 losses, Green Bay: 4 losses, Chicago: 5 losses.

I still don't feel good seeing how we've performed on the road and in critical situations...but we are still in it.

this is what I need to know....what is our teams focus ....getting in to the playoffs & exiting early by being mediocre OR be a playoff contender like Colts & Saints & winning crucial games at home & more importantly on the road.

Next game with GIANTS is MUST WIN for us or else we MUST forget about this year.

i get that we are still in the playoff hunt and all. but the only reason we are in the playoff hunt is because there are other teams out there that are sucking worse than we are. i dont want the Falcons to be a team that just gets by because of others failing. i want the Falcons to make it to the playoffs on their own and not have help from anyone else.but i guess ill take playoffs/winning record anyway i can get it

I said it in another thread, the Giants game is a must win. It's unfortunate that we've put ourselves in this position by shooting ourselves in the foot in our last 2 losses (Saints & Panthers) but the D needs to start playing better in the 1st half and Matt Ryan needs to figure out whatever is going wrong by next Sunday or the season is a wash.

Which could mean we're not as bad as we think we are and everyone goes through these ups and downs.

Don't get me wrong, I'm frustrated with losses like today and I have a bad feeling that this one might come back to haunt us, but looking at the league...it's unpredictable from week to week. After the way Dallas has been playing who saw them losing to GB today? Some people were saying they were the best in the league. The Saints almost lost to the Rams today...THE RAMS!!!

i guess if other teams are failing, then it just isnt us. but ide like for the team to live up to the potential we have. we cant settle for less. maybe its too early to be reaching for the stars like that. maybe a bit unrealistic. i guess its just how you look at the situation. and i get what you're saying. but this weeks' surprise games were just one game for those teams. for us, we have been on a bit of a decline the last couple of weeks.

The only way you really win on your own is to win the division and I don't think that is anywhere near realistic. We get into the playoffs and I don't think anyone will care how we got there. All our games from this point are critical, but we definitely need to beat the Giants and Eagles since they are two potential wild card teams and handing them a loss and having a tie-breaker upper hand could be huge since there will probably be 5 or 6 teams with a real chance for the wild card. I was hoping Dallas would take care of GB, but oh well. There's still lots of football to be played and 3 teams that could be playing for a wild card (Eagles, Giants, Cowboys) are all in the same division and play each other a few more times.

Considering how bad we have played the past 4 games, we're still in a good position. Here's to getting the ship righted!
