Peyton
Here is the deal - in the NFL, every team can play. This team might look great for a stretch here and that team might look terrible for a minute there, but in the end, these teams are a lot closer than you think.Should we should be frustrated that the Falcons loss today? Sure we should, our OC made some seemingly dumb calls, our HC made a bizarre challenge decision, the corners looked pretty terrible all day, the LBs looked horrible for stretches, the D line had trouble getting pressure, and Matt Ryan threw to very terrible passes. It was an aggravating day, but those other guys get paid too, and there are a lot of great players on that other team.Let's stop all the silliness about Ryan and Mike Smith. Yes, it was a bad day, but this team is building something, and we aren't in the final stages of it. It's hard to accept I know, but it's the truth.Although I wouldn't mind at all if we go into the end stages with a different OC.

After the loss I was pissed off too. But I decided not to let it ruin rest of my day. I am still bummed but again, it is only a game. Peyton
I wonder how many of these bombs we will see if we get real hot and make the playoffs. It's not like it is a long shot for this team to make the playoffs. All they have to do is go 8-0 at home and beat Tampa and they got it. Or they could lose to NO and beat Tampa and NYJ and they have 10-6.I think they still have a decent shot for the playoffs, I just don't feel good at all about their chances of winning playoff games. takeitdown
Good post. We're not an elite team and we get what comes with that. For us to be elite this year, Ryan needed to be elite, and he's not there. Our best chance is still for him to settle down and start playing 65 percent completion 2TD/1INT ball. We still have a true 1 receiver, a very solid TE, and a true back. That's a lot of weapons. We miss HD and Norwood, but the offense still should be fine. I don't know why we don't have guys open deep on playaction. As the announcers said, there must be a tell or something if we can't get people open on playaction when the RB has averaged 8ypc the last month. When we keep 8 in and send 2 receivers out, they need to leak a back out for Ryan to drop to. We don't need 8 in to protect. It would be better to spread it out a little and make Ryan learn to make his reads and go through his progressions. I think it can still come together and we can be good, but it will happen when Ryan turns the corner, and not before.
SWIFT HITTER
You guys fail to realize that was our season. We are not going into Ny and beating the Giants with a banged up Turner a oline that is spotty in pass protection. A team Giants coming off 4 losses in a row and will look to generate pressure and attack Ryan with the front 4. Its not that real hard to comprehend. We are a very poor road team and our offense is not gelling and Ryan is strugglingWHAT MAKES YOU GUYS BELIEVE WE WILL WIN THIS GAME VS GIANTS ??? Now, if I'm like this tomorrow, then its a problem. You guys fail to realize that was our season. Even worst case scenario, we're 5-5 with a much easier schedule for a late season run.How can the giants lose?Eli isn't doing a whole lot better than Ryan, the giants secondary just sucks- if the Falcon Oline can give Ryan any time to throw, he can pick them apart. Giants haven't scored more than 20 points in their last three games. This was a bad loss, but you see teams rebounding from a bad loss into a great win ALL THE TIME IN THE NFL

Yeah these loses suck, but thats what happens in sports, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. I think some fans here thought we were going to run through the Panthers no problem and are now in shock. I knew the Panthers were going to be tough and we would have to play at a high level to win. The season is far from over and I still have faith in my team to get the job done.

JayOzOne
Its hard to reason with the chicken littles LITTLE CHICKENSfixed it for ya', bruh. Half-time, we were losing by 11, and every post on the Boards was full of hate for the players (especially Ryan) or coaches. Here's the news: He's the same QB he was last year(even though he's slumping) and the coaches are the same that they were last season when it was all love around here. Funny thing, though, is that we came back and should have won the game. It was no secret that we had the second hardest schedule in the league this year and so far, we have a winning record. A lot of fans need to stop being scared and realize that we're not going to win every week, especially when our skill players on both sides of the ball keep dropping like flies. If you cannot reconcile yourself to the fact that we can lose against any team on any given Sunday, you need to follow another sport. I'm not happy with the "L" either, but I'm much more disappointed that half the Board has given up on the season with seven games left. I said that this was his worst INT of his career. I don't take it back either. He needs to chill. It seems that someone has been whispering in his ear about his money. Telling him that he has to lead this team. He has to realize that he can only do his part, even if it mean just not messing up.
JPA
Today was a tough game. We did not play well, and the Panthers played very well.People forget, the only thing that was keeping this Panthers team from being the strong team they were last year was Delhomme's accuracy. He fixed that. They've been solid for a couple of weeks now, everybody that follows the NFL knows that already. And they were playing at home, which is a huge advantage in this division.Yes, our team played poorly, but we didn't lose to a team we should have blown-out, we lost to a team that's currently much better than their record shows. We struggle on the road. We did last year, too. It will hopefully change as the younger players get more games under their belts. And all of this nonsense about Mike Smith's coaching: Come on now. Say what you will about Mularkey, but Smith? Have you seen what our defense has been able to do in a lot of games this season? Our defense shouldn't be as good as he's got them playing. He's doing an amazing job getting the most out of his players, this was just a bad week.Bottom line is that we all have bad weeks. The Falcons are still above .500, 2nd in the division, and in the playoff hunt.
