omg I can see why no one comes to the board after a loss.

By no means should we bench Ryan but you have to agree hes not playing good football. Hes looking at the rush. Staring down receivers overthrowing balls hes just not consistent. He needs to fix whatever is wrong with a quikness because if he doesnt we could be looking at another losing season. Were one game away from being .500 and our defense isnt good enough to overcome multiple turnovers.

The only reason it's an awful idea is because their isn't a viable option for a replacement on the bench. Matt is struggling right now...I don't know what's happened to him...he's making rookie mistakes that he DIDN'T as a rookie...

Just gotta hope he fights through it...with Turner and Norwood out, Jenkins invisible, he's not getting a ton of help. But he's got to make better decisions with the football and quit forcing throws in tight coverage.

I agree he hasn't played well lately, but jesus some of the guys are ready to bench him and put redman in.. are you serious?? Let's have some patience here.

You know, prior to this game I thought Ryan had definitely slumped. I heard Tandy a few times though saying it's the O-Line but I always used to think that was just some bull excuse. Well, guess what? It's IS the O-Line that's not doing a good job pass protecting. All match they didn't give Ryan much time to make a throw. A 3-man rush and he still has less than 4 seconds to throw the ball before taking a hit. He mis-fired a lot of his throws too but a lot of them were just a mere inch off, like the difference against the Saints between a Ryan-Gonzo TD and a deflected INT. The first half was just a bad performance by Ryan but he played well in the second half.

A lot of things didn't go our way. Turner who was playing like a beast gets injured. Elam missed a very important field-goal. Norwood, **** it, we need him so badly. To be honest, I think the @Panthers game today was the hardest game left on our schedule and there was a thought planted at the back of my head that the chance of us losing this game is more than any other game on our schedule. Seriously. We were the better team but even still, injuries and 'bad luck' (if you believe in that) slowed us down and this happens to all football teams in the NFL.

Defensively, we've got to get off on third down. So many times all this season we allow the opponent to convert third downs. We'll still make the playoffs; I can only see us realistically losing 2 at most from here on out and I do reckon that we are favourites against everyone we're taking on now.

So you are saying Ryan has been playing fine? I don't think so. I don't think he needs to be replaced but a benching may be needed. He is making horrible decisions, his mechanics are way off, and he's playing scared. I'm the most optimistic person you'll ever meet, but all of this crap builds up and takes it toll. Something bad is wrong with either Ryan, Mularkey, or something. The most glaring right now is Ryan.

Ryan is playing scared, the defense is atrocious, and Elam is blowing easy points. This team is a patch work of players thrown together. We cannot stop anyone from running the ball. Why on earth would you get rid of Grady for younger, smaller guys who get manhandled week in and out. If you don't like the Falcons being criticized then read another thread.

I have defended ryan from a lot of the attacks against him but not today. No excuse for those pics and his bad throws. He directly cost us the game because the defense did step up and give us a chance to win. It was on him and he blew it. There is no excuse for his play of late. For a QB to have 15 interceptions half way through the season you can't actually credibly defend a QB.

And it's not just interceptions. It's him throwing the ball away on just about every set of downs at least once. He also over throws his recievers by a mile way too often. And he can't throw a deep ball to save his life. I don't know what's happened to him but his play has been indefenseable and this game might have cost us any chance of getting into the playoffs or even having a winning season.

It really sucks being a falcons fan. You get your hopes up to finally break the curse only to have your heart ripped out year after year. Meanwhile other teams can change coaches and still win superbowls and win every week (colts/steelers). It really makes me wonder why the same teams year after year can produce while other teams constantly suck no matter if they change coaches or players. I hate conspiracy theories but d*mn it, it's hard not to question how this happens all the time.

You ruined a very good post by giving your own opinions... Yes, Ryan is playing scared, the defense is horrid, and Elam blows...

But our run defense wasn't any good WITH Grady...so keep him for what?? He's old...doesn't practice and only played about 20 snaps a game...so why not develop his replacement?

The crazies come here to blow off steam. It is ridiculous.

What's ridiculous is missing a 34 yard field goal. What's ridiculous is throwing the ball when it isn't necessary. Yes, there's a lot of people who come on here to blow off steam, but after this game it's understandable.
