FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Receiver Michael Jenkins was placed on the Atlanta Falcons' injury report as questionable because of an undisclosed illness Saturday.

To get another wideout on the 53-man roster, the Falcons released running back Aaron Stecker and signed Troy Bergeron from their practice squad.

The Falcons (5-3) will visit Carolina (3-5) on Sunday potentially without either starting receiver. Pro Bowl wideout Roddy White also is listed as questionable with an injured knee and was limited in all three practices this week.

Jenkins, a fourth-year starter and a late first-round pick for Atlanta in 2004, did not miss practice this week. Team spokesman Reggie Roberts said he was not sure the severity of Jenkins' illness.

No. 3 receiver Brian Finneran is ailing with a knee injury and did not participate this week after he left last Sunday's win over Washington and could not return.

The Falcons also could be without starting left tackle Sam Baker (ankle) and No. 2 running back Jerious Norwood (hip) against Carolina. Neither participated this week, and both are listed as questionable.

I hope some of these guys can go! Glad we got solid depth at receiver.

The sad thing is if Booker starts there is a good chance Jenkins might not get his job back so fast

Yeah, Matt has a better relationship with Booker than Jenkins right now. If Booker performs tomorrow at the starting spot(assuming Jenks is out), then I wouldn't mind seeing Book starting from then on.

The injury report was the same way for the most part last week...but they all ended up playing except for Jerious for the most part...just a cautionary thing basically. That does suck about Jenks...but we are very deep at WR

Johnson, Norwood, and Snelling all 3 misssed the N.O. and Washington games due to injuries
