Ssal0808
Das LinkHudson, Braves complete three-year dealVeteran right-hander set to be long-term part of Atlanta rotation By Mark Bowman / MLB.com11/12/09 10:15 AM ESTATLANTA -- Now Tim Hudson can officially say that he's excited about the opportunity to be with the Braves for at least another three years. The Braves formally announced Hudson's three-year contract extension on Thursday. The 34-year-old right-hander's deal is believed to be worth approximately $27 million. "We are excited to have Tim back as a big part of our club the next three years," Braves general manager Frank Wren said in a release. "As we maintain the strength of our team, which is the starting pitching, Tim provides veteran leadership that is invaluable to our young pitchers." Terms of this contract were agreed upon two weeks ago. The announcement was initially delayed until an insurance company-approved doctor could administer a physical exam. The second delay occurred when it was learned that an MRI was mistakenly not scheduled to complete the physical. Hudson went 2-1 with a 3.61 ERA in the seven starts that he made after returning from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in September. Now that Hudson is secured to be back in the rotation, the Braves will continue to attempt to move either Derek Lowe or Javier Vazquez. While it would be a luxury to keep both of the veteran right-handers, the Braves believe they need to move one of them to provide the financial flexibility to take care of some of their other roster needs. Lowe is owed $45 million over the next three seasons and Vazquez will make $11.5 million before becoming eligible for free agency at the conclusion of the 2010 season. young mr. grace
If we could dump Lowe and KK, then we should have enough money to re-sign LaRoche and sign Matt Holliday.
Ssal0808
Oh if we could get LaRoche and Holliday, that would make Bobby's last season.Ever notice we both have pictures of old men in robes in our avatars?
