dmite
A lot of them aren't even his fault. I hate when people say, "He sucked, he had 3 ints!" You can tell they didn't watch the game. Only 1 of them was a bad decision. Sometimes you have to give the defense credit (Vilma) and you can't really count last chance hail mary tosses. The Don™
Agreed with everybody about Ryan....The KID needs to relax and just play the game like he knows how to play it...He will be fine, no questions about it in my mind.
delaigle
The saints are about the most pass happy (and pass successful) team in the NFLbut in this gameBrees net passing yards 291Ryan net passing yards 281I personally do not think that was too bad. slamee101
This reminds me of his polar opposite:JaMarcus Russell gives himself a good assessment again in loss to ChargersWe will be OK. I promise you I was just thinking about this. We gotta guy who really isn't playing "poorly" but he's unhappy with himself...meanwhile JaMarcus is in Oakland looking as bad as any QB I've seen in the last few years and he's talking about how it's not his fault. Why think for yourself when the stats tell you everything you need to know? There was a time when in order to have a real football conversation you had to actually know the sport. I could probably make up fake terms and get some of these people around here to think they were real.
DavyDmx
Ryan will be fine. He is a born leader and will not let a few bad games shake his confidence (His first bounce back game will be on this Sunday).
Xnex
Sorry this post will be a bit long but I've got some concerns about Matt that have been nagging me since late last season. The things I like most about Matt are his ability to accept responsibility and his desire to be the best by out working other qb's.But I began to get a little concerned about Matt late last year. I can't remember exactly which game it started in last season but late in the year he started throwing INT's. I believe it began when we had 3 or 4 games left. All qb's suffer when they are put under heavy pressure through the pass rush and Ryan is no different. But last night I'm pretty sure there were a couple of times when the Saints were only rushing 2 or 3 guys and as soon as Ryan saw the DE get even a little pressure he failed to just step up into the pocket and instead he basically broke down and ran himself into another Saint player and took a sack. I also think Matt became a little gun shy late in the game and became hesitant. A couple of times he had the "deer in the headlights look" last night, IMO. I'm also worried about his downfield passing. The timing and accuracy have been very bad several times this year when Ryan was required to put some real "umph" into the passes. Even on the big bomb last night Ryan didn't really throw the ball that well or that far. I'm wondering if Ryan has worked himself so hard that he developed a "dead arm" like MLB pitchers do sometimes.I believe he will get it fixed but I am becoming concerned that something has gone awry with Matt. Birdbrains9
one thing that gets over looked is the fact that we have play teams that have a good defense. i also think we need to open up the play calling for him and by this i mean sending more than 2 wr out on a route. i really dont believe he trusts his playmakers other than white and gonzo, which is why he forcing it to them. dninc
Ryan is figured out thats all, He's no longer the New guy in town, his play has been studied, picked apart, examined and people have found ways to counter most of what he does, expect worse losses now that teams are giving more tape on how to put Ryan's game to rest.. CHOCTHEFALCONFAN™
Matty played well but the pick 6 and a few more passes just ticked me off he can not stair down the reciever like he did but he's learning
The_ATL
He isn't the only one not happy with his play.Matty needs to stop pressing. I think if Turner can keep rolling then Matt's play will improve as well. Let's face it, when you have no running game it's going to be tough for any QB (much less a 2nd year) to perform his best.I also think he needs to stop keying in on Gonzo so much, it's starting to become obvious. Brewcrew
We've played some good defenses, and Ryan is still a baby for NFL QBs. He's learning with every snap. He's going to really, really good for LONG time. I'm not worried about it in the least. Last year everyone said Ryan was slumping at the end of the season and yet we went 3-1. This year we are 4-3, and yet he's suffering from the "sophomore slump". If this is him bad, we are going to win a TON of games throughout Ryan's career. We've lost to three really good teams in their house, and the hardest part of our schedule is over. It also takes offenses longer to click. I fully expect the rest of the year (starting with D-lo and the Skins) to be the time for our offense to SHINE.

AtlFalc78
The INTS dont honestly bother me, only 3 have been his faultits the overall comp% and him not feeling comfortable in the pocket, TG has been great for him at times, but he gets tunnel vision, locking on to him, when someone else has been openI think some of this is his lack of faith in Jenkins. Jenkins was deep downfield with no one behind him yet Ryan didn't throw it and took a sack. I think this was in the 3rd qtr so I bet Ryan doesn't believe Jenkins will go get the ball.Roddy was out of sight on that one play and Tony must have been covered up. We should look at Booker rotating in for Jenkins and use Weems in the slot more to give Ryan a few more targets

PHATRYAN
I'm worried Ryan might start trying to overthink what he is doing wrong and force more. Someone needs to take him aside, like Smith did with Roddy, and tell them to quit putting so much on himself and just go out there and be himself,Sorry but this is how he typically will play, last year's average year was about as good as he can do. He will continue to be a TO machine just like college, I've said it since last year that anyone who throws 20 ints vs poor talent in college will can only revert to that in the pros
