5:30:51 pm Falcons RB Jason Snelling, who has filled in at FB for Ovie Mughelli (calf) and at backup RB for Jerious Norwood (hip), could see his role expanded after running for 68 yards on seven carries against Dallas. "If he continues to run the ball like that, then yes (he'll get more touches)," Falcons coach Mike Smith said.

5:01:52 pm After watching the game film, Falcons coach Mike Smith wanted to take full "responsibility" for Atlanta's loss to Dallas yesterday. "We had a plan to execute certain things and we didn't execute and work the plan like we needed to," Smith said.

5:00:49 pm Cowboys LB Keith Brooking, w

ho played with the Falcons for 11 years, made comments after Dallas' win over Atlanta that indicated the victory meant a lot to him. Did Falcons coach Mike Smith talk to Brooking after the game? "I did not seek Keith after the game," he said. "After a game, win or lose, I try to get off the field as soon as possible."

4:47:35 pm Falcons coach Mike Smith said the team tackled poorly against Dallas, which will be something Atlanta will try and work on this week. "It's hard to go down and tackle one another in practice because these are big, strong guys and they can't be running into one another," Smith said.

4:44:56 pm After the Falcons struggled against Dallas yesterday, coach Mike Smith said there may be some changes to the lineup in the secondary this week. "We'll evaluate week to week," he said. "We're always contemplating changes if we feel they will help us."

4:42:46 pm Falcons DT Thomas Johnson hurt his calf against Dallas yesterday, but coach Mike Smith said he'd give an update on all injuries Thursday when the team releases its injury report.

4:42:02 pm After giving up 311 yards and three touchdowns to Dallas QB Tony Romo, Falcons coach Mike Smith said it wasn't just the secondary making mistakes after watching the game film. "I've said it many times, it is team defense and we couldn't generate a pass rush with our four man front," Smith said.

4:39:17 pm Even with injuries to RB Jerious Norwood (hip) and FB Ovie Mughelli (calf), Falcons coach Mike Smith wouldn't say that was a reason for Atlanta's struggles against Dallas. "We have a motto: No excuses," Smith said. "We're going to put a football team out there, guys that are healthy, and they have to make plays for us."

4:33:47 pm Falcons coach Mike Smith said there may be some changes to the lineup in the secondary this week, after struggling against Dallas yesterday. "Yes, we wil evaluate week to week," Smith said. "We're always contemplating changes if they feel they will help us."

Even Smith points out the secondary isn't terrible, the pass rush is making it worse.

Hopefully he actually gives the better chance to win(Snelling) more chances this Monday.
