Dharma Initiative
Things could not be going much worse for Falcons RB Jerious Norwood in his contract year. Norwood first missed time with a concussion, and now he says he should be out for at least a few games with a hip injury. Sources told PFW that Atlanta had been seriously considering a contract extension for Norwood last summer, but the change-of-pace back's health issues have become a major obstacle in the negotiations. -- Pro Football Weekly -----------------------------------------I love Norwood and he is one of my favorite players. His injuries are killing his chances though

Peyton
Man those guys must have been doing some serious under cover work to get that kind of top secret info.
sdogg
No way do we resign him. We can get a change of pace back in the mid to late rounds.
UnderTaker
If true I don't see how anyone could be surprised by this.I'm not"I like the guy alot, but he hasn't been able to stay on the field for a while now...
Guest The Masked Falcon
I would hate to lose his "instant offense" ability but it is what it is. The guy just can't seem to stay healthy.Maybe he'll play a real strong 2nd half of the season and put some of these concerns to rest. Durrty
After he went out with the hip injury, I knew Norwood's place on this team was done. When you're thinking "investment", it wouldn't be wise to extend Jerious' contract regardless of his potential. Dharma Initiative
I made a post about this once, but if we can get another power back it might be best to convert Norwood to WR. he has good hands and the speed. Plus he'll be getting tackled by corners and safeties instead of DE's and linebackers.
War Damn Eagle
I love Norwood and hope he gets over his injury problems. When on the field, he's a difference maker. We needed him badly yesterday.
The Don™
Good RB's have been so easy to find lately in the draft....We can draft one and problem solved....As of NOW, I don't want us to resign Norwood.....But who knows, he could get healthy and explode in the 2nd half... freakyfalcon
Keep Norwood as a kickoff return specialist or like some else said maybe convert him to WR and thats about it.
philosophico
Well if he wants to sign for beans, im all for it though I doubt that is the case.

maxatlanta
Norwood is a special player on the field, and an outstanding teammate and person as well. This may actually keep him here in Atlanta. Had he not been injured some team out there would've offered him starter money and we wouldn't be able to match. Now his value will be lower and I'd guess we value him enough to resign. He's more than a change of pace. He is our 3rd down back. He blocks, runs routes, and totes the rock in important situations. He also is our #2 rb and our #1 is currently underperforming. Did I mention he is a top notch kickoff returner? Its amazing how quickly these boards turn on players.
Falcons23384
Norwood is one of my favorite backs in the league, not just the Falcons, but the truth is, if he can't stay healthy it won't just be the Falcons not giving him a contract. I can't think of any team (except Oakland and Detroit, but can we just agree they aren't actually NFL teams?!?!) that would sign someone with his history and frequency of injuries of all types. WeakNoodleArmMattRyan
We don't need Norwood, Snelling is the truth, Norwood would go to Seattle with Jimmy Mora.

Norwood all the way!
Well if he wants to sign for beans, im all for it though I doubt that is the case.how can Norwood ask for anything other than beans? i mean sure he is an explosive runner and all but that doesnt matter if he cant stay on the field. im all for keeping him if he wants a reasonable contract. im a big Norwood fan but i realize the situation hes in. i just hope it works out
Xfactor
If he can stay healthy for the remainder of the season I would give him a 1 year extension. Play well next year, stay healthy then we will talk. Maybe he should do a strength and conditioning program in the off season instead of fishing every day. frankthetank966
Letting Norwood walk would be foolish. He contributes just about every time he touches the ball. He is having injuries this yr. Big deal, he missed a few games in the past.
Old fan
I hate it. Norwood is a good person and a great change of pace back, but hovering between the injury list and IR is no way to help the team. We have way too many injuries as it is.No, Snelling is not the replacement for Norwood. We need a speed runner to balance our attack. phattywankenobi
I always liked what Norwood could do as a change of pace but you can find these guys every year just like Norwood in the later rounds. RB is the easiest position to start immediately at scat back and hopefully return duty.
atljbo
Norwood will be a restricted FA next year so the guy is not going no where no time soon.
