Gimmesomo!!!
um sorry but he is already SOOOO good that it's obviously disrupting our offensive chemistry, if Matt has a sophmore slump its based soley on Tony's signing simply because a Tight End IS NEVER SUPPOSE TO BE THE 1ST OPTION...and as good as Tony is he'll be more effective and helpful for not only Matt but the team as a whole if he just plays his role instead of being our STAR TIGHT-END...everybody's numbers are hurting because we insist on getting Tony touches instead of letting him work for them...and Matt needs to get his head outta his butt and grown a pair! ATL Fan in the DMV
I think it is a combination of the offensive scheme and Ryan locking on to him too much. Gonzo is just going out there doing what he is told. Gonzo has been huge for us, but I am certain that if our O Line gives Ryan enough time, White would have more touches. I dont care how good or bad you think Gonzo is for us he cant throw himself the ball or make himself the primary receiver. he has made plays when hes been called on. Ryan needs to stop acting like Gonzos our best and only receiver. Sometimes he doesnt even look at the receiver with the most 3rd down catches for 1st down in 08 (White). On that 3rd down where he hurried the underneath throw to Weems 4 yds short of the first, he had White WIDE OPEN 15 yds in the middle of the field for a TD. Both cb and safety just let him go, before Ryan threw it, because he knew he was throwin to weems when he broke the huddle. (They showed that play from the pocket cam and it made me cry.) If you go back and rewatch the games you'll see that has happened a lot this season. If you watch the other big time QBs when they get time they stretch the field vertically. When ryan gets time he throws 5-10 yard crossing routes. But if you really want to blame someone look at the OC who has yet to prove he can make an adjustment from game to game let alone within one.
