philosophico
Romo is considered a star because he has the star on his helmet, thats about it.
gacowboy
Except - based on that link - he doesn't qualify. It says they must have 1500+ attempts. He doesn't.Well right now he has 1,472 attempts, after he plays Atlanta he will qualify. Now you are just trying to Nitpick.
Firstiary
And ONE HORRIBLE CALL, when the Boys had the Chiefs backed up at the end of the game, 3rd and 26 and the ref called unessecary roughness on the Cowboys, on a very clean hit.Wait, did your guys actually hit a QB? Come on, you know you can't do that in the NFL. That's on the Cowboys then.Well right now he has 1,472 attempts, after he plays Atlanta he will qualify. Now you are just trying to Nitpick.Winner. Brewcrew
Romo definitely has some good numbers. He is also surrounded by one the best o-lines and the best running back tandem in the NFL and very good defense. The WR are better than avg without T.O., but not the best. All I know is there is no reason that Dallas hasn't won a playoff game in the time Romo has been there, so you have to point the finger at someone. I certainly don't think it's all Romo's fault, but I also think he plays better when he's not under pressure, which is a characteristic of true superstars. But I also think Peyton Manning is the same way. The only reason Brady has more rings than Peyton is because he is cool when it counts. Manning has been notoriously BAD in playoff games. Even the year he finally won it all it took having his defense totally bail him out.
Tandy
Well right now he has 1,472 attempts, after he plays Atlanta he will qualify. Now you are just trying to Nitpick. After he plays Atlanta that rating will drop! Seriously though, the reason I spotted it is that it's a Wikipedia - which can be edited by anyone - so I followed the link it said it was representing - low and behold - he's not on the list!My linkSo you don't know how many other quarterbacks "just a few throws away" might fit in front of him.Does he have a good rating - yep. But, some of those guys on that list were that high after YEARS of playing - Romo's been in the league 7 years - but only started in 44 games - that's 2 3/4 years worth of starts. I wouldn't compare him to Peyton Manning - who's done it for 11 years or even most of those really high listed guys. That's like me saying Ryan is a better winner because he has won 71.4% of the games he's started and Romo has only won 65.2%. That's a little unfair because Ryan has started half the games. You're comparing apples to oranges. The top of the list - just based on the number of starts - not the years they've been in the leagueJ:Steve Young = 9 years of starting timeKurt Warner = 6.7 years of starting timePeyton Manning = 11`years of starting timeTom Brady = 7.3 years of starting timeJoe Montana = 12 years of starting timeTony Romo = 2.7 years of starting timeThe point is - that his career is far from over - he has a lot of football left to play and those numbers can change a lot.I didn't read the OP's first message - and I don't care what people think about him one way or the other - but that comparison is just off - and not just nit picky either. gacowboy
Where are the Romo Bashers now. He had I think 140 QB rating vs the Falcons.
ConnFalcon
Where are the Romo Bashers now. He had I think 140 QB rating vs the Falcons.Yup, he did. That's what happens when a DL can't get the QB- and a secondary who can't cover. That is NOT Falcon football. We played like crap, and you punched us in the mouth. I ate some crow, carry on.
CraigSmackDaddy
Where are the Romo Bashers now. He had I think 140 QB rating vs the Falcons. Most people are too busy bashing our own team to worry about Tony Homo right now... He played a good game. As much as I don't like him or the Cowboys though I did not bash him. If he played like that all the time maybe you guys would live up to your hype! All of those guys you mentioned had their ratings go up after their third year of starting...Just like almost every QB.
