Ghost Rider
Yeah i remember you was going crazy up in here LOL. Man i am glad that JA98 is finding success at the DT position, do yall think he could add like 10lbs and still be as effective, mabye even more effective.No. He needs to stay wear he's at. He is really quick inside and he is pretty stout in there as well. From what I can tell, he doesn't need it.

He can easily add some good weight. Its sooo awesome that he is playing the way he is. The two main things that i excites me the most is: 1) Like we said his emotions. He seems like he is playing harder and is liking his new role which you can't put a price on that. 2) It lets Biermann play DE who is a better pass rusher. Knight of God
Well he just freed up the FO to look at some options at CB and see what we have in Hill and how far the others are along.

From what I can tell, he doesn't need it.But since he is 6'6 the weight will be more evenly distributed and he will probably be just as quick, but hey if he can continue to have this success at his size then it will be irrelevant. NZFalcon
K not gonna read the whole thread to see if someone has mentioned it but i liked the way JA98 played with abit of emotion, and was jumping around on a 3rd down stop. Its good to see him find his place on defense. Shot JA98 (never thought i would say that, in a non sarcastic way)

Maybe he can add 5 to 10 lbs at the most but I'd rather him stay like he is now. He was pushing people around, not vice versa. He actually looked strong in there. I think him playing on the outside helped him.

Osiruz
yeah he's been awesome two games in a row. Crisp houston really worries me though, he got exposed tonight. Edited October 19, 2009 by osiruz
tkizzleATL
Wow u guys left out Thomas Johnson. The dude played his heart out today! i still can remember the play where he beat the Oline man off the snap, and ran straight into Forte, just too bad he moved too fast to tackle Forte.YES, Thomas Johnson has definately been a force in the middle of our D-line the past couple of weeks. I think we've just been emotionally caught in the progression of JA98 that was considered impossible

Its funny actually. He showed some actual speed today. Man by next year he'll be getting 4-5 sacks...heck he'll do that this year.I think that he may be a little like me on that one. Find out that you're good at something and start studying, focusing, and working on it. Bet he hits the weights a little harder now... Ghost Rider
I am about to make a thread about our best CB on this team period, Brent GrimesHe played well tonight. His two sure tackles stopped two drives for Chicago. Brain Williams looks seriously hurt so I hope Tye Hill can get ready in a hurry. He might be getting his chance soon. Felt bad for Chevis to come in ice cold in the 4th qtr like that. Gave up the TD but had solid coverage on Olson. It was a great throw. Knight of God
I am about to make a thread about our best CB on this team period, Brent GrimesWhich scares me. I now know what it is that I didn't like about him. He's a cover 2 corner and we have been playing man. He can really, REALLY jam though...geez. Grimes, Jamaal, and Weems. Three guys that I was low on.Jamaal!!! Man, that feels funny to even say!
Norwood all the way!
wow JA98 has really shown up at the DT position. i hope this gives him confidence now and can continue to grow. if only Jerry hadn't been injured. we would have a great DT rotation going on. Bet he hits the weights a little harder now...Yea, it seems a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders the last two games. I think he had a lot of pressure at DE and realized he wasn't cut out for it. Now he realizes he can actually play and play well, he might really devote himself to the game. I'd like to see him get to at least 290 to 295 though. He'll need that weight for the long haul. lol. Needs it in muscle though.

What a huge return tonight for us. And on another note, I think Devin Hester may have had more punt return yds tonight than we gave up all of last yr. They block really well for him though. It isn't all just him. They blocked us very well. Our coverage teams are normally very good. Also, Keonan out punted his coverage on that long Hester return. Punted it too far. It's not always a good thing when your punting to a guy like that.
804_Falconfan
Jamaal played lights out. A lot of emotions and effort. It was good to see. I was never as low on him as some other people because I always had a feeling his versatility would come in handy. I was really happy to see Weems break off that big return. What does it say about Houston that Grimes always seems to be covering the other teams faster, better receiver?
atljbo
I just love the fire Jamaal is playing with..Jamaal Anderson was never fiery.. Like i said this summer.... All he needs to see is how success feels and he will want more... He feels that now..... Now he is playing like he wants more... I'm sure he will look at more film Tuesday and work even harder with Coach Hamilton.... Success does that.

Weems is still growing on me, I am not 100% convinced yet about Weems.

He and the other three had a hand in that off sides call. I was really taken by surprise. REALLY.

What does it say about Houston that Grimes always seems to be covering the other teams faster, better receiver? This is not a true statement. Houston plays on the right side and Grimes on the left side. They never switch sides so this can't be a true statement because they both cover the other teams WRs depending on which side they line up at. Tonight, they both had chances to cover Knox and Hester.
