Voice of Reason
I hope Ryan panics just like he did with 13 seconds to go last year vs the Bears.I included the two seconds that some claimed were erased by the clock operator. This always cracks me up because so many people throw out "11 seconds" when it was actually much more impressive than that. Ryan did not have 11 seconds. He had 6 seconds. We used 5 seconds on the kick return. Ryan lead us down the field for a last second fieldgoal in 6 seconds. Jesus
hahaahaha. I have been laughing for like 5 mins. I don't know why its so funny, but it is. My favorite part is "Im not really big on the Falcons Mascot" haha, what does that have to do with the game. Living in Chicago I can attest there are real live falcons living on the side of buildings downtown and at the zoo. I have yet to see a bear outside of a zoo.Where do they come up with the names for the teams here? Bears, Cubs, not a lot of originality there. AutoMax
I'm really not that impressed with the people in and from Chicago in general. That's not to say that they don't have some smart people living there. It just doesn't seem to be a very consistent trait.
ms620
If you look at the video, the clock did not start on time on Ryan's pass with 6 seconds left. The game should have been over. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d80b90585/Falcons-22-Bears-

ms620
Ddue. It's a year later. Get over it!Ha I am over it. But if you read this thread, and what Falcons fans post on the Bears board, people always make comments like "Matty Ice took them down the field in 6 seconds". The fact is that the game should of been over. If you ask me who is better this year, I think the Falcons are better. I think Turner will have a very good game, and the Bears secondary will not be able to cover Roddy and Tony G at the same time. I think Falcons win by 7-10 points. However, last year was a different story. Falcons were better, but the Bears should have won the game.

Are you expecting the clock to tick to 5 as soon as he snaps it? You do realize a second takes...a second, right?BTW. You can also pause that vid with 12 seconds left and Davis is down with the TD, so really we should have had 12 seconds anyway. They also let a second run off after Jenks was out of bounds. Any way you slice it, the Bears lost and you sound like a punk. You're not over it or you wouldn't be here, and you're wrong. What you seem to not understand is that our clock isn't like the NBA's. In other words, the NFL clock doesn't show tenths of seconds. When you see "06" left on the clock, it's actually MORE than 6 seconds. It's "6 plus" seconds. It's just that the clock doesn't show it. So, for all we know, the time remaining was actually closer to 7 seconds than 6 seconds left. When the play started, the clock started. Plain and simple. The delay you see is just the tenths of the second running off before the clock ticked from 6 to 5 seconds. Maybe this is too hard for you to understand, but it doesn't change the reality that Ryan beat the Bears last year legitimately. Liking this fact of hating it doesn't change reality. Sorry. john_winger
Take it from me, 85-90% of all Bear fans are ignorant. Some Chicago fans do get it<my quote tag>Is the OP aware that Matt Ryan has ice in his veins? Won't matter if it's prime time or not. Tony Go terrifies me. </my quote tag>One of the 10-15% that understands the situation.
john_winger
OK, I'm going to be the bad guy here - very unusual for me.I usually like the Bear fans. There are some that are arrogant and a pain - but hey - every team has that. But, they are true football fans and they live and love their Bears. I respect that. They have a lot to be excited about this year with Cutler added to the mix - so I can understand that as well. However, some are definitely misguided about Ryan. When he's in the Dome especially - he just shines. I think this will be a great game and I think our offense will do a great job.I did notice where one Falcon fan said the only way to keep the offense from scoring was to keep them off the field - and the comeback was - Was that what New England did.Why didn't they answer - yes - because they did. We had the ball 20 minutes to their 40 minutes. I think that constitutes keeping them off the field. Also, it would have been 17 if they hadn't called the Offensive PI on Jenkins.I used to sit one row in front of a fan we all called Chicago in Section 308. He would come to every Falcon game and root for the visitor. Whenever the Falcons gave up a turnover or the other team scored, he would pump his arm and call out, WHOOOOOO, WHOOOOOOOO!!!! (aka A Train). About half the time, he'd have a visiting team jersey on (he really loved TB games), and at a point where his team was obviously going to win during the game, he'd pull it off and reveal his Bears jersey. He liked to push the buttons of the fans around him, and a lot of 'rookies' got sucked into his game. One kid got himself kicked out because he couldn't see through it.He wasn't really a bad guy; in fact, I got to be sort of friends with him. I still don't know why he devoted so much energy to bashing the Falcons, but I would have given a season's worth of tickets to see his face when they lost in the last few seconds the last time we hosted them. But when the Falcons would go ahead, he'd leave. We'd always escort him out with a chorus of 'WHOOOOOO, WHOOOOOOOO!!!!s'.It was all good.
vel
i dont understand why people think Hester is a strong #1 WR!? he is a #3 at most and we have somebody to stick him, Knox, and Bennett. Olsen is easy to take out of a game. all we have to do is to take an early lead and force them into throwing the ball (which has been their weakness since i was born and lived in Chicago)
Tandy
If you look at the video, the clock did not start on time on Ryan's pass with 6 seconds left. The game should have been over. http://www.nfl.com/v...ons-22-Bears-20If you look at the video - the last TD by the Bears - Rasheed Davis was on the ground with 13 seconds left - but it ticked off 2 more seconds - so technically - there should have been 13 seconds - which means there was no game over issue.Get over it. The clocks are not run by the home team or the visiting team. Neither team has any control over the clock - and the play clock you see is not the official clock anyway. There is an NFL official who runs the clocks and another official who is watching the "official" time.So - you guys really need to let that go. We beat you. obstreperous
The only way a player is distracted by the atmosphere of a sunday night game, is if 1) he has too big of an ego and thinks the world is looking at himand 2) he has too much time to thinkI believe Matt Ryan keeps his ego in check, and will be too busy reviewing game film in his mind and reading opposing defenses to think about how many people are watching.
