Voice of Reason
One homer thing I hated was they took a shot at the Falcons' playcalling from the very first play because we opened up by throwing it. Goose said something like, "that's not what you should do. You should want to establish the run." But when the Niners started their little short passing game, nothing was said (even though they were talking all pregame about how the Niners were a running team and wanted to establish the running game). Yeah, this commentating was very biased (and I admittedly like that crew usually).
jm_falcons
Maybe folks will start to realize that if your defense is not ready to play the Falcons...you will get punished! Just like the Niners D found out today.
jlrfalcon
Actually, the biggest example of their stupidity was on their replay analysis - they got burned first when they were so convinced that the Norwood turnover was going to be reversed and then the refs stood behind the call. Then, they looked stupid on trying to say that the kick return fumble by the Niners would have been overturned if it had been reviewed. It also seems they not once mentioned the fact that the Falcons had not had Norwood in its 2nd and 3rd games or mention the impact of the loss of Peria Jerry on the NE game. I hate to say I may be happy next week with Al Michaels running the booth and Bob Costas in the studio.
TheTruthHammer2.0
Yeah, completely terrible from the starting whistle. It also seemed like none of them did a bit of research on our team beforehand.
Jesus
It was like CBS back in the 80's...The niners are the greatest..blah blah blahI loved right before Roddy's 1st TD they couldn't over how exciting it was that Singletary yelled at his defense. Then they couldn't believe that it didn't work. Dropping Pants and yelling at grown men does not equal victory. I wouldn't be surprised if they 49ers won only 3 or 4 more games this year. ebonymonk
Moose covering the 49ers is like Brian Baldinger covering the Falcons, you know they lean towards a team because they do a lot of their games and they can't always not show it. East ATL a.k.a TROLL
Moose covering the 49ers is like Brian Baldinger covering the Falcons, you know they lean towards a team because they do a lot of their games and they can't always not show it.Yeah, the announcers love fest for 9ers was obvious. But why should we care so much about what they think? As long as we win, that's all that counts.
RunningThePiszOuttaTheBall
They were freakin' ridiculous! Funny, how they thought Singletary's power as a motivational speaker would single-handedly give the 49er players superpowers. Then they were dumbfounded with shock when it didn't happen. It was clear the announcers came into the game thinking the Falcons had no chance, almost as if the Niners were playing the Rams again. Daryl Johnson, in particular, was a complete idiot who kept saying the same stupid things over and over again. I used to think he was pretty decent ... but he blew all his credibility and then some today. I wish I could listen to Durham and Archer, but radio reception at my house sucks due to being in a valley or something, and Internet listening never seems to work out.Oh, and I thought "Goose" was gonna cry standing there on the sidelines, talking about how the Niners needed some energy on their sidelines. And then he very stupidly suggested putting in Alex Smith. The Niners had already lost the game by then. They just needed to take the butt kicking and go learn from it. Putting in Alex Smith would not win the game for them, and it would cause problems that would bubble over into future games. A truly stupid group of buffoons on the mike today. Christopher
They also called norwood, turner early in the game then it showed a perfect shot of the tag and number. no correction was made then either.
FalconJim
I'm glad some other Falcon Fans realized how obviously biased these announcers were today...Bunch of "homers". If I said it once, I said it 30 times...."kiss my a_ _"!!! while I was watching the game. Every other word was, how great the 49ers are, and how intense Mike Singletary is....and how great their defense has been...."kiss my grits"!!! I thought announcers were supposed to be fair and un-biased...apparently not...these "buffoons" certainly weren't. I'd like to see 'em get reprimanded, or something. Don't suppose it'll ever happen, though. It's things like this, that make me want to turn down the volume on my TV, and turn the radio on! If it ever happens again, that's exactly what I'm gonna do.When will we ever get any respect??? I can watch the sports shows all week sometimes, and NEVER hear the word Falcons. Something's wrong with that picture. Is there a conspiracy among broadcasters, against the Falcons? It seems like it!!! They almost look like they're going to start laughing when they talk about us, regardless of how well we play.Oh well, thanks guys for letting me "vent" a little. I'm really glad we won today, for the obvious reasons.... but mainly because, maybe it'll shut some of these "homers" up for a while....I hope.Falcon Jim. FlyDirty
Yeah. Terrible. I was groaning. I usually have to watch the games at a Sports Bar without any audio commentary. Somehow by the sweet grace of God they decided to air the game in my area. Right from the start I could tell there was a blatant angle those three stooges wanted to pursue. I don't think it was so much Niner love as far as trying to pursue an obvious angle and then when that angle went flat...they lacked the ability to deviate from the pablum they scripted the night before. Even my girlfriend commented on it...and she's a Patriots fan without much interest in the game. "They really don't have much to talk about now that your team is destroying them." Bunch of clowns. ConnFalcon
That followed by "Hill is a competitor, no doubt".Yeah if throwing as far as you can every down makes you a competitor.I know, I just laughed. Hill looked TERRIBLE out there. He threw some really bad balls out there. It only took till it was 35-10 for them to start giving the Falcons some credit. Ridiculous. dcfalcons
Finally, Goose said something like....."We do have to give credit to the Falcons offensive line"Gee...ya think?!Goose had to remind the other two as they are so up the buttt of Singletary that they cant admit that the Falcons are MUCH better than advertised and the Niners are charlatans. There is bias and there is homerism....what these announcers possess is a mixture of both.I agree. I remember thinking like 4 or 5 times whether Moose was going to give us any credit. It was all about how the niners weren't playing niner ball. Give me a break. Goose finally gave us some credit and then Moose decides to agree. Hahaha.
muskokas finest ©
The 35 points in 60 minutes was more about the 49er defense looking so bad than a knock on our offense
