Most impartial observers suggested the 2008 Falcons season turned on one of two games: an impressive road win at Lambeau or the thrilling last-second Ryan-to-Jenkins connection that bested the Bears at home.

With the next four games on the Falcons slate reading like a 1920s murderer's row (at SF, vs. CHI, at DAL, at NO), it's not inappropriate to put a little extra import on these contests. All four are NFC foes. One is undefeated. Two of the four are leading their divisions. Each promises to be a factor in the NFC equation.

So don't be surprised if we look back in January at today's contest against the 49ers, a team built in its legendary head coach's image, as one that defines the 2009 campaign.

It's time to crank it up. It's time look across the line of scrimmage and give your Niners opponent the same stare their coach used to give running backs. It's time to kick them in the mouth.

Are you ready for some FALCONS FOOTBALL?
