GreenFire
Who else is extremely frustrated that these two aren't clicking? I feel like its so close, like Roddy is going to break the big one soon. Sometimes he gets open and Ryan can't get it there. Sometimes he is dropping wide open passes. When do you think this will get straightened out?

When he came into camp, players said he looked faster. The holdout is easy to blame but I don't think its ALL Roddy. I think there is something there its just not hitting on all cylinders right now

I think there is something there its just not hitting on all cylinders right nowIt's true that Ryan cost the team, himself and White both a td with the underthrown pass vs. the Fins. But Ryan was putting forth the effort. I saw White not even try to catch a pass in the same game that was thrown to him that was off. I've also seen White stand frozen in place while Mattie is scrambling till he just has to throw it away.I hope something good happens for the team's sake.

UNCFalcon
I know that for me, and this may be completely irrelevant, but hopefully it's not...For me, when I have a big challenge put before me, I do really well. When I don't, it's a lot easier for me to chill a bit and not put forth maximum effort. The first few years, what we saw out of Roddy was definitely not maximum effort. Then talk of him being a bust started up, and he got his act together. So for 2 years he put up really good numbers, as we all know, and then wanted more money, thinking he had earned it. And now that he's got it, it's time to chill again. I'm RICH BIIAAAAATCH! I really hope Roddy's not this kind of player, and I really hope the rest of the locker room would kick his *** if he were not giving 100% out there, but I kind of wonder... Michael Turnover
Yeah you're right, roddy has done great this year....Is it just me or are alot of the fans on here wearing blinders? I'm new here, but it seems like no one can be realistic.

I'm new here, but it seems like no one can be realistic.for every negative post, there are 2-3 posts that are way too optimistic. Some posters never want to ever see doubt about coaching or a player. They believe the Falcons can do no wrong.
The_ATL
Roddy has already dropped more passes this season than elite ones do in 8 games. I'm not so much upset with the drops, it's the fact that he held out because he thought he was one of the best.I sure hope he proves it before too long. I feel like its so close, like Roddy is going to break the big one soon. Sometimes he gets open and Ryan can't get it there. Sometimes he is dropping wide open passes. When do you think this will get straightened out?TIMING is off because RYAN can't throw the deep ball to RODDY. RODDY is to fast and he has to slow up his route just to catch the ball. RYAN to JENKINS works well because JENKINS isn't that fast. RYAN had this issue last year but folks didn't want to admit this. RODDY had to wait on most of his passes and toward the end of the season RODDY 100 yard games stopped. Most folks blamed it on the ROOKIE wall but his arm isn't that strong. RYAN is good up to 25 yards but after that its garbage.Don't hate me for saying this but that is what I have noticed. The loss to NEW ENGLAND was something waiting to happen and it's going to happen again. They moved the defense up so stop the run and the dump off to GONZALES, and it worked. Coach Smith and Jacksonville was know to throw the deep ball with Garrad so why isn't it the same with RYAN?
ConnFalcon
for every negative post, there are 2-3 posts that are way too optimistic. Some posters never want to ever see doubt about coaching or a player. They believe the Falcons can do no wrong. What wrong with being optimistic about your team? If you want to be negative and think the sky is falling because we are 2-1 and the team isn't clicking yet then be my guest. But no need to bring everyone down with you. Look at the glass half full for once.Your falcons do no wrong comment is bogus. I think we are all aware that they have done wrong, and it has been discussed. But people like you just keep dwelling on all the negatives, and don't look at the positives. Have some optimism.

bossFALCON™
roddy's still leading the team in receptions and targets just like last year. he's actually on pace to catch 80 balls (he had 83 in 07, 88 in 08). the only difference this year is that his yards per catch is horrible so he hasn't put up a bunch of yards. we have only gone deep to him two times this whole season and that's what he does best. last year he had 18 receptions for 20+ yds and 4 receptions for 40+ yds. this year he has 0 for 20+ and 0 for 40+. for some reason we're just not throwing deep to him.i don't think it's on roddy or ryan i think it's on mularkey. (not to mention they both had greats seasons last year) If this were the last game of season and Turner and Roddy haven't produced, then I would begin to question. But 3 games, come on now. The run game has not opened up. Ryan has been throwing under pressure all season - defenders in the face, being hit as he throws and being hit as soon as he throws. He's not had time to plant his feet because of the pressure and the receivers downfield have been covered well. If they aren't open - nothing he can do about it - he takes the fastest route to avoid the sack.
