I'm still hoping for 90 wins this season.

90 wins 60 wins it doesn't matter we'll be sitting at home watching the playoffs. Actually we'll be sitting at home after 3 games in playoffs anyway considering our stellar trend in the first round

Absolutely right. We should in no way take some satisfaction that the team has shown marked improvement over the last few seasons and seem to be poised to have an excellent 2010. And we should automatically assume that even if the Braves make the playoffs next season, that they will lose in the first round, since the Braves have done that twice since the division playoff series began.

In fact, there's no reason to watch sports since the likelihood of the team that you in particular root for will win the championship is extremely narrow. Your better off spending your time doing something that will guarantee you satisfaction.

We should clearly follow House's example and abandon all sports, and naturally stop posting on sports-related sports message boards!

House, I suggest you go first.

By whom? The Mets were considered to be the favorites in the East since the season ended last year.

There were people picking the Mets, Phils and Marlins ahead of the Braves.

ESPN 2009 predictions:

14/21 baseball analysts picked the Mets to win the NL East. The other 7 picked the Phillies.

2 picked the Braves to be the NL wild card, 1 picked the Marlins.

Sports Illustrated 2009 predictions:

9/14 baseball analysts picked the Mets to win the NL East. The other 5 picked the Phillies. No one picked either the Braves or the Marlins to win the wild card.

Chris Bahr of Sporting News picked the Phillies to win the NL East and the Mets to be the wild card.

Baseball Prospectus, using their PECOTA statistical system, predicted the Mets would win the NL East. The also say the Braves will be "in the hunt".

What's great about the internet is that you can look things up.
