whitekb011
Guys, Decoud dropped an easy interception in the endzone and could have had another one. He was in the right place, but we need him to make those plays. Our entire DL got blown off the ball all day. Very minimal pressure and I think we only threw 4-5 blitzs at them. I will say this, it was not our DTs, but our DE’s, especially when Bierman and Abe where in at the same time. Most of there longer runs were directed towards the outside and right at our Defensive Ends. We have a lot of work to do during the bye week to get ready for an explosive New Orleans Offense. Our LB corps did not tackle well at all. On the Fred Taylor TD, lofton hit him in the hole and didn’t wrap up.Offensively, we did not do a good job of game planning, besides the ball to Jenkins, we did not throw the ball down the field and there was several times I saw one of our Receivers was one-on-one with one of there 3 active CB’s. I was really disappointed with our offensive game plan – It was like we were scared and played very conservative.OL – They stunk it up really bad. The interior of our OL got zero, and I mean zero, push on inside runs.RB – Turner, he is running like a little girl. He has not hit any holes with authority, partly because our OL hasn’t given anything to run at. Every team we have played has continually had people in the backfield. I believer Turner also tip-toes too much and doesn’t stay with the front side run enough. He try’s to cut back and there was always one if not two NE defenders in the gap on the cut backs. I also think we should have used Snelling more. He is more productive because he can catch the ball out of the back field. He was probably the best Offensive person we had Sunday.QB – Regardless of the stats, Ryan was not spectacular and seemed very timid at times. I think some of this was the game planning and I think some of it was lack of execution from our WR’s, mainly Roddy White. There should be no excuses not to get the ball down the field when Gonzo was in bracket coverage all day.Coaching – More than anything, I believe our game plan was very Bad. Mularkey was very conservative and BVG did not have this defense ready. They looked lost a lot out there. You could tell they had us on the ropes.Having said all of this, I believe the team learned a very good lesson and quite frankly needed some humble pie. thestufford
yep, we were dominated on both sides of the ball and we are lucky the score wasn't 45-10 or worse. Offensively if we play ANYTHING like we did against the pats you mind as well write us down 2-2 b/c SF has a really good defense and will play us hard at home. Big stage.........big moment...........complete flop. The franchise is still Div. II , I'm afraid. We ALL got caught up in the hype.
LADBABY
We were humble enough going in. We did not attemptto overpower and that was our best chance. Turner andGonzalez were neutralized. White heard footsteps. Ryanseemed confused on his check downs by what they were doing. We got no pass rush for the second week in a row.We are still good enough to win but not playing like that.
