KRUNKuno
Thomas Dimitroff might say he's okay with our defensive line, but that showing against the patriots was simply embarrassing. Positive yards came out of every play NE ran it seemed. They abused our front four no matter what the combination was. The whole game was defensively demoralizing. Our defensive line, in general, lacks natural intensity. It's as if they have to make a play before they can get fired up. Besides that, they get pushed back at least 3 yards every running play. Some of the holes that have opened up in these first 3 games are ridiculous. That pass rush that everybody said was finally here is still non-existent. I keep wondering when Sidbury is going to get some meaningful reps in these games. I have yet to see him on the field. JAMAAL ANDERSON IS OFFICIALLY A BUST. Easily the worst draft pick in franchise history. He provides nothing, and dont try to give me that run-stopper bs. It's horrible watching him play. Painful even. What I think we will do is sign a free agent defensive tackle. I keep saying Terdell Sands. He's big but agile. I also believe that we will start seeing Sidbury more. I see no reason for us to keep him sidelined while Jamaal Anderson continues to get opportunities to stink up the field. All in all, I think this game was a huge wake-up call. We're not that good defensively. It's 2008 all over again when this was supposedly the year we would play downhill defense. I'm not screaming 2-14, but I am screaming "fix this now!" This is our bye week so I believe we will.

MattIceRyanMVP2
I agree. We can't just sit back and let our D get man-handled. We have to do something.

Dharma Initiative
I'm not sure this rotating DE's is working so well either. If we put in the pass rushers they audible to run it and take advantage. We need to have a legitimate starter at LDE that takes most of the snaps so they don't figure out what we're doing everytime. ugadawg
And how would you fix it. The only think I read was bring in a new NT. The other thing was to let an unproven player start. I am not saying you are wrong by any means, but is that what I read. If Sid can play LDE by all means let give him some snaps, because what I have seen was JA/Davis/Kroy all get owned at LDE. I agree that over the next 2 weeks we will see change I just don't know what it will be unless we have someone else that can come in since the guys we have now are not getting it done consistently enough. If things stay the same teams will continue to run up the gut and make our DB's look incapable.

They need to leave them in for whole series.

QB's wikk audible to take advantage of whichever personnelwe have. We need to go all def in the next draft again. Mostly dl and db's

falconfan82
I think the starting D line after the Bye will beRDE-John Abraham DT-Vance Walker DT Johnathan Babs LDE Lawrence Sidbury
KRUNKuno
of course there's only so much we can do, but whatever it is we need to do it now seeing as this is our bye week. If we are said "set" at the defensive line, we are going to be in for a long year.

This is our bye week so I believe we will.I think TD put too much stock into his offseason acquisitions. I was hoping we would sign Rocky Bernard-DT when he was still available and I was worried about the injuries that Peria Jerry suffered at Ole Miss before we drafted him. Don't expect too much out of our defense with Peria Jerry gone for the rest of the season. Our D is mediocre at best. Maybe VanGorder should take an page out of Jerry Glanville's old play book and bring back the Grits Blitz. Face it, there's nothing anyone can do for our defense at this point. We got what we paid for(MEDIOCRITY)! It is what it is. Look for us to go 6-10 this season.

RunningThePiszOuttaTheBall
Today our D line was completely outclassed. It was horrible. Their worst running plays were for 7 yards. They should've ran every down ... we would not have been able to stop it. Why? That's the important question. If we're really that bad, how were we able to beat Miami and Carolina? Was it Peria Jerry that made the difference? Or are we playing inconsistently? Maybe we were "fired up" for Miami, but didn't have the confidence to expect to win against NE? I don't know, but we need some answers. Badly.

We got manhandled the entire game.
Jaymadd
I see that our Dline had a terrible game, but they have gone up against three great Olines. The problem is the fact that we are not getting the best play our of none of our Ends in the run game yesterday. I dont think there is a DT out there that fits what type of DT our Coaching staff wants, one gap DT, Terrell Sands does not fit that type of DT. I think that we need to see what we have over the course of the season, and just ask Mularkey to stop playing patty cake with this playcalling so that the offense can take over.
