Punters...

I'll stick with MK. It more than just distance but hang time is key. He helped us set a record last season by allowing 49 yards on returns all season. He is also very good at directional kicking and inside the 20!

Thomas "Hangtime" Morstead.

He's been punting balls that hang for 6 and even 7 (which isn't human) seconds until they come down. I seriously doubt Koenen does that.

As for directional punting, you've never seen Morstead punt have you? That's the EXACT reason the Saints drafted him, it's his speciality.

As for going inside the 20, Koenen and Morstead are about even on that.

Morstead was a great move. There was nobody we could have taken in the draft that late that would have the impact on the team that Morstead has.

I admit I was pissed at the time, but I was dead wrong. I wonder if Hartley is going to get his job back. I think with Hartley we would have attempted the field goal in the first quarter instead of attempting that 4th down screen that Brees slipped on

Saints haven't attempted a kick of 40 or more yards yet this season, so I'm perfectly ok with not knowing that...biggrin.gif

But for the record, Morstead was a very good long FG kicker in college.

well ****...drop the kicker entirely and save a roster spot

Tell me about it, Morstead absouetly bombs it every kickoff. He averages 2 touchbacks per game.

I'm starting to wonder if he actually watches the games like he always says he does.

Can we wait until he finishes a whole season and have this discussion in the offseason? Yes, he's playing pretty good now.

Interesting fact, Koenen had 5 back to back touchbacks in one game

I just find it weird talking about a kickers in general. <_<
