cyofish
Pretty disappointing game. Defense couldn't stop the run or the pass. Absolutely no QB pressure. If we have all these weapons on offense, why not allow Ryan to fully utilize them. Why did they keep rolling him out to one side, taking away 1/2 the field giving the defense a small area to defend. Ryan is one of the bright spot on the team but they're playing him like a first year reserve. Very conservative play calling dependent more on the running game and dink & dunk plays. Don't understand why they didn't go for the 4th & 7 on NE's 38 considering that defense wasn't stopping squat. Kicking the ball back was just going to allow NE to march back down the field. Only thing that stopped NE's offense were their own miscues. Why run 2 consecutive run plays late in the 4th quarter??? Running game was not working and we were 2 scores down. DeCoud got his hands on the ball...MAKE A PLAY!!!! He dropped 2 potential interceptions. They wouldn't have been easy catches but they would have been game changers. SaintsH8
I agree, and what was up with those points on 4th down when the Pats were just moving the ball at will.

duncja
I agree 100% Mularkey's play calling helped get Ryan into the NFL upright. However, instead of being "helped" at this point with the play calling, he's being coddled. Look no further than Flacco in Baltimore. They should have put the ball in Ryan's hands in the 2nd half more. You have to go for it on 4th down in the 4th quarter. That one drive where we ran on 1st with Turner.. then ran on 2nd with Turner... then the roll out to the right in which Ryan had to throw the ball away was abysmal play calling. I have no doubt we'll see them take the leash off Ryan come Week 5 though.
ltstorm2
I didn't get to see the second half of the game, but now in 3 games we have not thrown the ball downfield. I don't consider 20 yards going downfield. Turner is never going to get going if teams don't have to worry about a deep ball. Our offense looks exactly like Miami's without the wildcat. 5-10 yard plays.
