4:44:31 pm Today's injury report: RB Jerious Norwood (head, did not practice, questionable), K Jason Elam (left hamstring, full participation, probable), S William Moore (hamstring, full participation, probable), TE Justin Peelle (back, full participation, probable).

12:53:01 pm The Falcons traded for CB Tye Hill to help with the team's preseason secondary issues, but he hasn't played since he's still learning the system. But Falcons defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder said next week's bye should help Hill out a lot. "He looked better (this week)," VanGorder said.

12:49:59 pm Reading between the lines: It's very likely S William Moore will remain on the inactive list this week. "He's coming along, but it's tough when a young guy misses that many reps," defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder said.

12:47:34 pm Even with DT Peria Jerry (knee) out for the season, expect the Falcons to keep rotating the DL early and often. "We'll have to see how the pace of the game goes," defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder said. "But we're always been heavy on rotating defensive linemen, so we'll continue to do that."

12:45:01 pm Falcons defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder on whether the Patriots' offensive game plan would be thrown off if WR Wes Welker isn't available Sunday: "They're systematic in what the do. ... I don't know if it makes a difference or not."

12:42:48 pm Falcons defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder on whether Patriots QB Tom Brady is still the same player he was before tearing his ACL last year: "He's obviously a very intelligent QB. He knows where to go with the ball. He looks the same to me."

12:41:40 pm Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey on his mental process when trying to dissect a defense on film: "Defenses are constantly disguising their coverages. And we're no different. We're trying to make them do their homework."

12:39:50 pm Falcons RB Jason Snelling caught a TD pass last week. He's someone offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey isn't afraid to use in certain situations. "Every week he does what we ask him to do," Mularkey said. "He's a role player, and he knows his role."
