SacFalcFan
In response to some of the things posted; Yes, turnovers were key in 21 of Arkansas' points, put giving up 41 points, adding to one of Willie's many recent 30+ point games and watching the defense look lost on so many plays, leaving guys wide open, and committing dumb penalties is enough for me. You would be in denial if you said that this defense meets Georgia standards despite the turnovers. Mallett tore us up, This isn't a new development, I haven't felt comfortable with our defense for the past few years. I like Willie as a person, but his defense isn't getting the job done, Mark Richt needs to make a change or he will be held equally accountable for our defensive struggles..happy? no one is happy with our defensive performance and as I posted above CMR was quit ticked off after the game. RedandBlack4Life!
Well CMR was quite ticked after the game in his post game comments. He basically called out cwm again. He was very upset with our defensive performance and it was unacceptable. CMR sees the issues. He commented that the defense looked lost tonight on what to do defensively and that falls back on our coaches. Folks I think it's getting close to CMR having enough of it.Yeah, I think that unless our defense goes through a drastic turnaround, this will be CWM last year at Georgia. I believe CMR understands what the problems are and he remembers when we had a national top 5 defense and didn't have to have these big 12-like shootouts with opposing teams. Dawgy
Given that CMR has at least so far publicly defended CWM, these recent comments are very interesting. It'll be even more interesting to see who replaces CWM IF (I know it is a long ways away) it happens. My fear is that we may lose coach Garner if he does not get his shot. Also, I've been trolling this forum for a while, but I just started posting today. I have to say that this forum has so really astute football fans from all schools, and I appreciate all your thoughful comments. It's hard to find such discorse on the web- trust me .GO DAWGS! ugadawg
I also agree that if Garner does not get the job we will not fend of the next school that comes after him.Biggest question will be can he do a better job and what are his philoshpies
Cable Guy
Have a question here. With our best players on D being the LB's and not getting much pressure from the front 4. Would a switch to a 3 - 4 D be a good or bad idea?

Would a switch to a 3 - 4 D be a good or bad idea?I asked the same thing. I know USC made this change for the same reason. No pressure from the front 4 but a multitude of LB's
Bulldog1950
Don't read more in to CMRs comments than what he said because he didn't say anything close to CWM is in danger of losing his job. CWM is a good coach. The turnovers in the opponents side of the field hass put to much on the defense. For example the defense had nothing to do with the TD Norwood scored for USC, yet people say the defense giving up so and so points to USC is unexceptable. If you want to set these young players on defense back and hurt recruiting then just send CWM and CRG on out the door.
slamee101
I put a large amount of blame on Martinez b/c he is the DB coach and those guys look so lost out there with what they're doing and with their technique. We have one of the fastest defensive backfields in the conference but they look lost out there half the time.
