atljbo
Chris McAlister says he's getting a new gig todayPosted by Mike Florio on September 15, 2009 12:58 AM ETSometimes NFL news comes from the unlikeliest of places. On Monday, an update regarding the stagnant career of cornerback Chris McAlister, a top-ten pick in the 1999 draft, appeared via a Los Angeles Times blog dedicated to real estate listings.McAlister owns a Beverly Hills mansion, which he has listed for merely $7.9 million."I will be back in full force on Sept. 15," he said. "I can't say what team yet, but I will be playing again."McAlister spent his entire career with the Ravens, who released him in February. The fact that McAlister specifically said September 15 could mean that he's signing with one of the four teams that played Monday night, since a team must finish its Week One game before being able to sign a vested veteran without potentially owing the player his full salary for the season if he's later released. If McAlister were signing with any of the teams that played on Sunday or Thursday, he could have signed earlier than the 15th.I know NO one cares now but I'm just posting this. FalconFanSince1970
Smells like a classic Belechick move.
4LoveoftheGame
Interesting, since they are all AFC teams it doesn't really matter to me which team it is. I think it would be the Patriots or the Bills from the 4 teams that played.
kirbyr
Doesn't mean it is a monday night team. Could still be us.
Knight of God
Would not be surprised if McKelvin is benched. It would be harsh, but I'd be mad enough to cut him....TAKE A KNEEL DOWN!!! HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT BE???

Proto Man
Would not be surprised if McKelvin is benched. It would be harsh, but I'd be mad enough to cut him....TAKE A KNEEL DOWN!!! HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT BE???Right when I saw him hesitate and then decide to run... I knew it would end bad after he hit the 5 yard line. I knew the pats would find a way to win. falconidae
or the 15 th in the message might mean there's several teams after him, including a monday night team, and he's waiting for the bidding to work itself out. That occurred to me 30 seconds after I read this- how come Florrio can't figure it out? Duff_Man
Would not be surprised if McKelvin is benched. It would be harsh, but I'd be mad enough to cut him....TAKE A KNEEL DOWN!!! HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT BE???You don't bench a guy from his DB position because of a kickoff gaffe. That's ridiculous.
Durrty
This truly reeks of the Patriots, but this could backfire on ol' Belichick...all those aging vets...we're gonna no huddle the **** out of them!
The Gritz Blitz
Gotta be the Patriots. Boy are they stock piling old players. That team is gonna be in trouble in a couple of years. They haven't drafted well at all, besides Mayo and couple of others the past 3 years. Faithful Falcon
Would not be surprised if McKelvin is benched. It would be harsh, but I'd be mad enough to cut him....TAKE A KNEEL DOWN!!! HOW DIFFICULT CAN IT BE???You and I both. That was not a young player mistake, it was an early college or high school mistake. Not to mention fighting for yards, with the lead. Proto Man
I understand trying to make a play and everything but sometimes ya gotta just lay down and win.
