dardan
As long as Biermann's playing the way he played against Miami, it matters not who starts.
Ghost Rider
I don't know if yall realize but it doesn't matter who starts. Beirman played form the very first drive on obvious passing downs. That is enough for me. All of our guys is going to play plenty. I actually like the rotation the way it is right now. Every time we had an obvious passing down, Beirman was ion there. Just in case yall missed it also, he had a for sure 3rd sack stolen from him on a holding penalty on Miami's last drive. The dude can really rush the passer. About as good as Abe. Almost. lol. falcon82
Actually, I'd keep calling JA98 the starter and give Bierman more playtime. Simple reason, once he wants a new contract, he hasn't been the "starter", so he can't command that much money.

1989Fan
Coach said starters dont matter because they all get similar time in the rotation. If the offense comes out in a shotgun, Beirrman prolly would start.
Mr. Hoopah!
With our d-line rotation, all that being a "starter" means is playing the opening series. After that, everyone got equal playing time.
xFalconLord
Heres the thing. It really depends on who we play. If we play a team that runs 2 wide sets and not much 3 WR, then Biermann wont get as much playing time just playing in the nickle. Im fine with KB71 not in the base 4-3 so long as the nickle is on the field a ton. If we are in base 4-3 most of the game, then we need to have KB71 at LDE in the base 4-3 package. It really just depends on who we play, but I want KB on the field at least 60-70% of the time

rudy
Did I miss something?Bierman started against Miami but the network showed JA98. So as far as I'm concern, I thought Bierman started over JA98.Go back and watch the game, I'm pretty sure number 71 the first defensive series or two

Robb4242
3 Tackles 2 Sacks 1FFI say start the guyDefinitely NOT this week. The panties are a run first team and we need stout run defenders along the line in this game. I like Biermann, but he's usually having to chase down running plays from behind after they've gone right past the point of attack that he has not held. Just being in on the first series or two does not make him a starter, the starter is in on 1st down of the 1st defensive series. Biermann is a passrushing specialist, so he's in the game in passing situations.

Biermann is a passrushing specialist, so he's in the game in passing situations.Biermann was the LDE for 6 of the first 8 plays including plays #2 and #3. JA98 is a run specialist I guess, but lets be honest, is he really a run stopper? He didnt make any plays against the run in week 1. He has 1 TFL in his entire career, and he has seen about as many snaps as you can see this far in your career. I need someone to explain to me what Jamaal Anderson is good at.. why does he deserve to be on the field?Maybe he doesnt deserve being on the field at all.. Maybe its more that were hoping that he turns it around and we have no one that is decisively better than him. Davis has made more plays last season and last week, but is not great or dominant. Biermann is way better than 98, but we dont want to wear him out playing him on first down
