hakim24
OFFENSE* Matt Ryan has to keep working on his arm strength and touch. He is missing a lot of throws that are just inexcusable when you are planning on being a playoff team. I do expect him to bounce back very quickly.* I think the run problem is a combination of Turner AND the O-Line. The Line didn't give him too much room and this is usually the story when we play quality opponents. On the other hand, Turner really needs to hit the hole harder. * Tony Gonzalez showed why he is the best TE to ever play. Overall, I wasn't very impressed with our offense today..... especially the O-Line. They got GREAT field position on multiple occasions (6 times) and did not do anything with it. Not many holes for Tuner and a LOT of hits on Ryan. It was the first game and I expect them to work the kinks out and get it going. Last year we got a good start against a bad team. Facing a good defense on week one can cause some struggles and I think that is what happened.DEFENSE* That D-Line rotation is GOLDEN! We play to our strengths and we stay rested. They were dominate all game long. * The LBing corps was very good..... Peterson played great. * Brian Williams and Chris Houston quietly had a good games and didn't really allow much on the outside. * We FINALLY saw some turnovers. They played an excellent game. I will say that it would just be wrong for us to expect these performances every week, but I can definitely see major improvement from last year. The offense will catch up and hopefully the defense will continue. Great game, but I want to see more "killer instinct". We had them down and we didn't lay the knockout punch after plenty of opportunities. A Win:Win as Delhomme:interception..... I would hate to be a Panthers fan right now. Osiruz
Yeah Ryan had a mediocre game, and it didn't help that our line sometimes wasn't holding up. Nothing is wrong w/ our running game, its just that they are a good run defense and Ryan didn't punish them for stacking the box. Our defense look GREAT, excepting the TD play where decoud looked like he was meditating somewhere.B.Williams, and Peterson detractors can feel free to eat a bratwurst now though. mastershake
I thought our offense would be better and I thought our def would be worse. If Ryan hits the open guys, the score would have been a blowout. I hope it was just nerves. He will settle down. Elam will bounce back too. TG will have his best year ever. Just some early thoughts from a cluttered mind.
Osiruz
he might've been looking only for TG on a couple of those plays...if we had kept LR though it wouldve helped
RVA Falcon Fan
I definitely think our offensive woes were just first game jitters... we'll bounce back no problem. Our defense came out ready to show everyone that pre-season, once again (say it with me now), means absolutely nothing!
Osiruz
I really hope so...we should script some passing plays for turner.

Ryan had the flu and its the first game. The front seven of the dolphins is very good. Give them some props. Next week Ryan will be felling better and will eat up the secondary of the panties. Not to mention the carolina defense is really hurting. We might have 500 yards next week.
