Could we find room to add PK Brandon Coutu?

Coutu? I would rather have Ochocinco kick! Good thing we have Elam. Barring injury...Koenan. After that speed dial Morten Andersen again. Coutu is not an NFL kicker. He is a glorified soccer bunnie who UGA fans love. This is the NFL, not the Georgia Force and Brandon couldn't make the pressure kicks in college. Why should the Pros be any different. OCHO CINCO........He's the man!

I'm no Georgia homer, either. This kid is good. Give him a year under Jason Elam and then if he works out sign him as our long term PK solution and put that problem to bed.

Is his going to UGA the only reason to add him to the Falcons roster? Who are you going to cut to make room for him?

Looks like he played pretty good this preseason. Before we got Elam I was wanting us to draft him. I know we don't NEED a kicker but if we did I would want him. I am a Dawg fan, wouldn't say homer, and he is one of the few to come out of Georgia the last few years that I think will or would be good in the NFL.

Wiki

"He is one of only two kickers picked by NFL teams in the 2008 draft. At the University of Georgia, he kicked 3 field goals over 50 yards, his longest 58 yards. He never missed a PAT at Georgia and was the first kicker in Georgia history to have over 80% Field Goal Accuracy."

I'd love to have him when Elam is done...

"K Olindo Mare held off second-year player Brandon Coutu

to win the Seahawks kicking job for the second straight season.

The difference was kickoffs,

as Mare consistently put the ball into the end zone,

while Coutu struggled to get the ball to the 6-yard line."
