He's 6 foot 1, 224 lbs, 24 years old coming off a 98 tackle season with 3 ff and 1 pick. I'd love to get him, even if for a one year prove it type deal. We can't clutch onto our "We have potential in young guys" motto on defense all year. We could pop in a vet or two to fill out the roster so we don't hemorrhage points on the defensive side of the ball while we have our offense at our peak. Who are we, the Saints?

Someone bring in Pollard, put DeCoud back on the bench, and Coleman back at free safety.

Our lingering concern about Milloy was not his run defense, but getting torched in the secondary

Absolutely agree. Obviously if Pollard was a great all around safety, they wouldn't have cut him at this time. I'm not looking at Pollard as a long term solution, but as a one or two year stop gap between when Moore can fill in, and Coleman can move back to free safety.

The best way to help the secondary would be to get Coleman back at FS, improve the pass rush, and put a vet at corner. We have done the last two. Coleman moved to SS because we had no one who could fit in there with Moore hurt. We could sit Moore for most of this year, learn, and we wouldn't have to worry as much about his rookie issues.

Let's hope we have a handle on William Moore a lot sooner than that

He missed a lot of practice time and all of preseason. Do we force him to start under those poor conditions and a bum toe? Or do we put in a healthy vet who has had about 180 tackles the last two years? By the time he is healed and cleared to play, and gets some serious reps, where the coaching staff feels he is ready to start, it could be close to half way through the season. And that's when he starts making his rook mistakes.

Rookie mistakes were gonna be part of the mix anyway. If we didn't plan on throwing him into the mix and soon

given the lack of preseason and practice, I think he'd be on I.R. We need as many bodies in the secondary as possible
