Falcons Cut Analysis

Biggest surprise: Wide receiver Eric Weems seemed to have no chance to make the roster at the start of camp. But this former practice-squad player made the most of every chance he got. When Harry Douglas went down early in camp with a knee injury, the Falcons were scrambling for depth at wide receiver while Roddy White was going through a contract holdout. The Falcons brought in veteran Marty Booker and he’s made the team. Booker and Brian Finneran give the Falcons experience behind White and Michael Jenkins. But Weems gives them some young legs and some potential as a return man.

No-brainer: Quarterback D.J. Shockley might have been a local hero, but that didn’t help him when it came to make a decision on his future. Shockley got hopes up with a good performance in the offseason program, but his progress stalled there. Shockley was hugely disappointing when he got playing time in the preseason. That’s why the Falcons elected to go with undrafted rookie John Parker Wilson behind Matt Ryan and Chris Redman.

What’s next: Atlanta has a solid starting offensive line, but the depth is still a bit shaky with Brett Romberg, Will Svitek and Quinn Ojinnaka as the only backup linemen on the roster. The Falcons could look to add one more veteran to give them some flexibility. Even after trading for cornerback Tye Hill earlier this week, the Falcons still could look to upgrade their secondary.

i think his name starts with NOLOVE but hey reading comprehension, logic, sanity is in short supply on the ® side

LOL.....talk about reading comprehension. Go back and read my sentence slower. You may have an easier time understanding what it said. I never questioned what order his words were listed. I was speaking to the implied meaning of his screen name. Sheesh. I wish they would limit the new members ability to post until they have been around for awhile. Of course, I don't think time would cure ignorance.

Exhibit A: Here is a typical, government educated democrat ending a sentence with a preposition.

Well, if we must go politics instead of sports... If you guys are so against "government" then why are you trying to run it every election? We saw what you did with the last 8 years. We went from peace and prosperity under Clinton with HUGE surpluses to 2 wars, HUGE budget deficits, near economic collapse, looting of the treasury by W before he left office (just like daddy did in 92 with the S&L bailouts)hmmmmm I see a pattern here.Get elected, destroy the economy, loot the treasury and then blame the new guy for everything. Even a "government educated" person can see the REAL reason why you guys don't like Obama/ democrats and it doesn't have a thing to do with healthcare or "socialism" or "death panels " or any other lies and propaganda you good ol boys like to spread.

The President of the United States of America is black. Get over it !

I'm old school democrat....brass knuckles liberal. I will defend my the rights of the voters to elect whom THEY choose. I respected Bush

while he was in office ( though he didn't deserve any respect) because he was President of MY country. You people were so quick to shred anyone who criticized him as "unpatriotic" Well, the MAJORITY of Americans voted for Barack Hussein Obama. The PEOPLE have spoken. Unlike with W, the MAJORITY voted for Obama, with a LARGER winning percentage (54%) than Ronald Reagan got when he was elected (51%). Obama won in a larger landslide than Reagan. So, if you want to be sore losers, that's you're choice.

Because it is the "government educated" people who always think when someone debates or disagrees with them, they pull the race card, most often screaming racism. You didn't use the word racism but you should have. No one said people disliked President Obama because he was black. You are the first to bring it up. People dislike Obama because he is the epitomy of Socialism. His number wouldn't have plummeted as fast as they have if it was only the far right speaking out. Just because a black man is in the white house doesn't mean this country has advanced as a nation. Had Condoleeza Rice, or even JC Watts, had become the first black president, this country would be in a much better place. Stop crying racism just because someone disagrees with you.

Those who voted for Obama weren't people, they were brainwashed mush heads who fell for the hype of an unqualified, socialist scum who is in way over his head. 7 months in and I'm still waiting for Obama to go through with even one promise he made.
