Duff_Man
The draft is an absolute crapshoot. You can look back on every draft and say that. If you couldn't, the draft would be three rounds.
RunningThePiszOuttaTheBall
I don't follow college closely, so I had not heard of Adrian Peterson until he lit up the NFL in his rookie season. Those of you who saw him in college ... was it obvious he was going to rock the NFL world like he has, or has it been a surprise? (Tell the truth now )

Plus (as shown by last year) he had issues holding onto the ball.Had he fell to another team he wouldn't be as good, but what RB would behind a terrible line? MilleniumFalcon
I don't follow college closely, so I had not heard of Adrian Peterson until he lit up the NFL in his rookie season. Those of you who saw him in college ... was it obvious he was going to rock the NFL world like he has, or has it been a surprise? (Tell the truth now )I was very high on Peterson ever since he was a freshman at Oklahoma, he was one of the best pure runners I've seen in college. When Adrian Peterson was available I was getting very excited that the Falcons were going to draft him... then the Vikings selected him. As for Jamaal Anderson I didn't know much about him but I thought maybe he could turn out to be decent... I was pretty high on Patrick Willis as well, but didn't know he was going to be this good this fast.

If you couldn't, the draft would be three rounds. That is not a very good excuse, he was never even evaluated in person. I'm selling your excuse and I'll raise you a bad draft. autigerfan
It is disappointing that JA 98 hasn't lived up to his draft billing but it happens. Lets keep in mind that we were all calling for McKay's head for drafting Roddy and Jenkins and they came on after a few years in the league. Sometimes it just takes more time for that light to come on.

Peyton
What if.....What if the Falcons hadn't traded a 1st round pick that turned out to be Jamal Lewis in order to draft Reggie Kelly. What if the Falcons hasn't traded Brett Favre for a pick used on a running back that never had a carry after his rookie season. What if the Falcons hadn't traded two first rounders that were eventually used on future HOF candidates (Bryant Young and Marvin Harrison) in order to get Jeff George. This is a good football team, i think it's funner to look forward. The ones that tell it like it I.S. is. You are one of em. Good post.Fact is, you can go back and second guess half the league in any year. With that said, Busterson was a mistake on day one. Peyton
What if JA98 does break out this season? I think he is going to do OK. I don't know if he will be a 10 sack guy, but I think he is improving. The Falcons have 5 DEs that each bring something. That's pretty cool, and I don't know when that's been the case. With 5 DE's do you think we'll carry all 5? That thought has been in the back of my mind. Would we carry 9 DL???

Because he doesn't have the big name, I guess Bierman could be most likely to get cut, but Smith is a fan of keeping the best 53 football players, and Bierman, quite frankly, is in the top 20 football players on the team in my opinion. I can't see him getting cut. They can't cut Sid, so that just leaves JA and Davis. The Falcons could potentially trade Chauncey or Jamaal, I would not be shocked.
