living404
For current westerns, 3:10 to Yuma, and Appaloosa were both really good. The best western ever is High Plains Drifter with Clint Eastwood.

The Snellvillain
Everything I'd recommend has already been mentioned in this thread. Tombstone is the best ever. Can't go wrong with 3:10 to Yuma, Appaloosa, High Plains Drifter, Unforgiven, or Open Range.

DefenseWinzCliche
No one has mentioned the best western of all time BLAZING SADDLES. I almost did.I would put Blazing Saddles, Cat Ballou, and Waterhole #3 on my list if people were in the mood for comedy westerns too.I love all 3 of those movies. DefenseWinzCliche
The Appaloosa with Brando is a movie I like too. I wouldnt recommend it as a all-time western. But if you find it anywhere, check it out. I bought it at Media Play in the bargain bin in 2001 or so. I like it.But One-Eyed Jacks is a GREAT Brando movie. It's where the whole "scum suckin' pig" line came from.

DefenseWinzCliche
How about The Apple Dumplin Gang and The Cherrokee Kid?I actually havent seen that since I was a kid.I liked it then, but I dont know if it still holds up.True story. The Apple Dumplin Gang was the ONLY VHS movie my grandparents owned for about 12 years. So when I was a kid, it was the only movie you could watch if you were spending the night with them, or staying out of school sick.

I have looked for it in media stores to no avail. That Tim Conway / Don Knotts combination was awsome though.
