RODDY WHITE UPDATE COMING UP ON ESPN FIRST TAKE

Recommended Posts

I despise ESPN. They just did an entire segment on the NFL, contracts, etc, and no mention of the Roddy situation. It has been over an hour. I am turning this garbage off. If someone can summarize it, I would like to know what they say when I get back...

I guaruntee they're going to say both sides are working to get it done, and that's it. I'm just glad this isn't an ugly holdout, but it still needs to end soon.

That update was pointless...it presented no hopes of the contract being resolved...complete garbage from ESPN. Steve Wyche's interview on 790 added a little more clarity. He mentioned the reason why there isn't a big commotion coming from Falcons' camp is because Roddy won't miss much...he's familiar with the offense, he knows the routes, and all he may have is a little rust to knock off. Truthfully, at this point, I think we should give him Fitzgerald money...mostly in incentives though. It could very well be a stretch, but if you take him out of the equation, our offense suffers. We do have the leverage with the CBA situation, which would be the better choice, but if we want to win now and possibly make it to the Superbowl, let's just give him the money...he just better not disappoint.

I do have to say that I enjoyed the piece on the messed up rookie contracts they did a few minutes ago, and I especially enjoyed watching Matthew Stafford hem and haw when the chick asked him if he felt like he had earned all the money he's been paid.

Well it was tough, but I did it. I sat through 60 minutes of First Take. I was about to walk out the door, and it came on. According to ESPN, Roddy is holding out. Wow, I hate this channel.

They did mention that there are ongoing negotiations though, and that hold outs are a bad thing.

dang it no good espn

Congrats to you sir.....

I hit my Skip Bayless quota about 30 mins. in, and flipped it back to Cold Case Files on A&E..... :D

If this story happened in the Northeast they would know everything about it and report on it every 5 minutes.

Suze Kolber or Ed Werner would be camped out in front of Roddy's house, reporting everything he did for the day.

" At around 12:30pm, Roddy returned home with a bag of what appeared to be Taco Bell burritos..... We're not sure, but when we get conformation, we'll let you know......"
