WTF is WALL-E doing in there?

Every single LOTR??

And Citizen Kane bored me more than The Good Shepherd.

The rest are all great movies.

 I almost didn't put WALL-E in there, but it was in the top 64 on IMDB, which is what I used to make this list.

There were a couple outside of the list that I threw in there because I knew they would have a shot, like Man on Fire, Braveheart, Casino and a couple others, I really should have just left WALL-E out of there. A LOT of people loved that movie for whatever reason though.

WALL -E was alright, IMO, but I am hardly a movie buff.

DANG!

WE could have almost had a Hitchcock final four with

Psycho

vertigo

North by Northwest.

Should have put " The Birds" in the Eastwood division. or moved "Rear Window" :P

I don't see how "Citizen Kane" could bore anyone. For the lighting alone I would watch it over and over.

Kind of strange none of the universal monster films made the list.

And no Wizard of OZ? come on now.

( don't you love the list critics?) :P

LMAO @ The Dark Knight and LMFAO @ it getting a # 2 seed on top of that. easily the most over hyped and disappointing movie in quite some time. Take away Ledger's death and it would have been a "solid" movie at best. His performance was the only thing that movie had going for it.

Outside of WALL-E and a couple of others, good list. Surprised that a few movies mentioned in the previous thread aren't on the list.

Wait..you used the IMDB top 64 instead of people's entries?

Gone with the Wind isnt on the list? Also, no Rocky?

Otherwise a pretty good list

Come on dude, Rocky? Every Rocky movie is ****ing terrible. They're all the same **** movie. Rocky stands in the ring with his hands down at his waist and gets the ever loving **** kicked out of him and takes like 800 shots directly to the face, and then he comes back to win in the 12th round. A 5th grader could have written those movies.

I keep having to tell people that I used the IMDB's Top 250 list. I used nearly every single movie in the Top 64 save a few. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed in that movie though, not that I don't respect your opinion, but that movie surpassed any expectation or hype that anyone could have possibly imagined.

How does T2 get a 16th seed to go up against Godfather II?? That's going to be an interesting battle come Monday... :P

There are definitely some interesting matchups. My final four is Rear Window, Raiders of The Lost Ark, North By Northwest and Saving Private Ryan. I've also got Jaws, Lewbowski and The Deer Hunter in my Sweet 16, all are either 14 or 15 seeds.

It's your tournament and I'll certainly participate in it, but the way I did Beauty of the Year tournament was I gave automatic bids to the girls with multiple entries and drew the rest of the names randomly to be fair. Not saying this is wrong, I just would have done it differently.

Did you check the entry thread though? No offense to peoples' opinions but one guy put every ****ing Kevin Smith movie, and like 8 different people put Friday.

I'm not criticizing the movies people like but I'm also not putting Friday in a Greatest Movie Ever tournament. Picking girls is easy because everyone pretty much finds the same people attractive.

Movies is a bit harder, and I knew there would be people who would put movies that would never win. I tried to use a list that millions of people vote on, so I could get the most consensus "great" movies.

it was a decent movie, but outside of Ledger's performance, it would have been a big steaming pile of crap like half the other batman movies have been. for comic flicks from last year, i personally enjoyed hellboy 2 much more than TDK.

i understand that you used IMDB's list, but wouldn't it make more sense for us to just go to IMDB.com to see what movies make up the top 250? now we get to come here and see IMDB's list of top movies instead of the ones that we submitted. while i like the idea of a bracket for the top movies, personally, i would have used the movies that were recommended in the previous thread as opposed to using a list that already exists and think that doing it this way is going to result in an epic fail compared to what it could have been. but, to each their own though. there are still some **** good flicks on the list though :)

I guess I didn't read it thoroughly. I thought it was going to be the same. But the BOTY tournament had the likes of Fergie, Lil Kim, Kat Dennings, etc. I tried not to use any bias for or against anyone. Plus, it makes it more like the NCAA Tournament in that there are low seeds who really don't have a chance. In the end, the best will make it through.

Again, I'm not saying anything against this tournament. It should still be fun.
