JAMAAL-10
Signing Matt Ryan to twelve million dollar contract was a mistake, and it's starting to play itself out with Blank now supporting eighteen game schedule. It was very costly and embarrassing to buy tickets so metro Atlanta wouldn't be blacked out during 2008 home games. It's only a matter of time when the Falcons will ask Ryan politely to restructure or give some of his money back. midtownfalcon
believe this if the falcons continue to develop and preform at a high level that dome will be full for every home game...i would tend to think any owner of any business would be happy to have the opportunity to increase revenue which is what adding games does....by your rationale if blank has to continue to buy tickets for home games wouldn't increasing the number be a bad idea?? Mrs. Heatley
Well if a playoff run and the rookie of the year wasnt enough to keep Delta interested then playing more games so that OTHER profitable teams have to share their revenue may be Blank's best option! Prison that is. Why are you still here you clearly wish the Falcons to fail since your poor choice for a hero let you down and will never be a Falcon again? Vick is currently being held in a prison in Atlanta. Judging by your whiny post it sounds like you were denied a conjugal visit.

BlacksburgHokie
There is a massive logical problem in your argument. Can you see it?Yeah it totally makes sense that the reason that Blank would support a longer season is so that he could buy more tickets to avoid embarrassing blackouts

Or you're a new Falcon fan.Otherwise you'd know that when the Falcons are losing, the dome doesn't fill up. When they win... it fills up. 2008 followed a terrible season with a lot of drama from every direction. It will be different this year.
justcs3
If I'm not mistaken, the idea is to eliminate 2 preseason games. And they charge tickets for those games. So, since they are replacing them with meaningful games then they have greater revenue potential.

JaGz
http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/footbal...position=recentHe is paid on a yearly contract.. NOT a per game contract... if he wants to be payed per game then when his contract is up he and his agent need to state that in a new contract until then.. .STFU and play or get out of the league. and they are not ADDING games but just simply making 2 of the preseason games into regular season games. goatehall
the average attendance was like 62,000The Dome holds 71,162 so thats an average of almost 10k empty seats per game.

The fans pay full price for the preseason games. The networks can not sell as much advertising for those games. The idea is if they make them meaningful then more people will watch, more advertsing, more money for the owners.

maverick68
Could the Dome not be selling out because many racists in Atlanta won't support a white QB, even if he's winning?
