Cato June WLB 2yr 6mil

Played out of position at SLB due to Brooks being at WLB. While in Indy he was a premier cover 2 WLB. He's not at his best when he has to shed a bunch of blockers.

Just look at the stats in Indy at WLB and stats compared to TB at SLB Tackles Interceptions

I think Nicholas will go to SLB with Peterson. He wont start but he would get much more playing time. I think they are going to utilize Peterson like they did Abraham in order to keep him fresh while allowing Nicholas to continue growing at position. Cato would be our starting WLB and we would draft his future replacement (Freeman,McCrath,Casillas,J.Williams,Maiava)

Ken Lucas 2yr 6mil

They invested alot of money to Gamble(26), and they think Marshall(24) is ready to be a starter. It so happens that Lucas is 30 and Carolina is trying to go younger as well as stay under the cap. I think he could come in and compete with Chevis Jackson and possibly start over him if he's not ready yet. I think he could be just as effective as Foxworth.

Houston is better than people want to give him credit for. Yes he needs to work on his ball skills abit, but he willl be a good one before it is all said and done. Chevis Jackson has shown flashes last season, but he may need more time. Lucas would come in and be a solid starter alot like Foxworthy was for us. If Jackson is ready for the 09-10 season, Lucas would be the best nickle we have on the roster. Hutchinson had a bad foot injury so we dont know what we can expect from him. If he is healthy and ready to go I would like to give him a look at NB and or FS if Coleman is expected to switch to SS and Decould isnt quite ready

Draft

1st: Brandon Pettigrew - Completes our O

2nd:Jarron Gilbert - Good UT

3rd:Gerald McCrath - Might be the best WLB in the draft

4th:Sebastian Vollmer - Good RT depth behind Clabo

5th:Frantz Joseph - Could be an absolute steal for us

5th:Roy Miller - Underrated DT who could rotate with T.Lewis day 1

6th:Brandon Swain - Depth

To be completely honest I don't see us picking up and more notable free agents.

By the sounds of it TD et al seem to have some faith in the young guys who are possibly coming into starting roles this year.

Not bad with the picks, although I'm still not on the Pettigrew bus as of yet.

Besides if we don't pick up any more FA this year we could grab up to 4 (more likely 3) comp picks in next years draft, which from what I hear is going to be quite strong.

wow if we do get three third round comps or even two our draft next year could be amazing. It gives us the ability to trade up (not using the comp picks i knw) w/o fear of not having enough picks to fill needs/holes. not only that you can find very talented players at the end of round 3, maybe not instant starters but guys like decoud and douglas

Doubtful that it would be 3 third rounders, eventhough that would be freakin outstanding.

From what I've heard a third(Foxy), fourth(Boley), seventh(Milloy/Gravy) is the most likely scenario.

Brooking and Peterson would cancel each other.

Even that gives us a lot of felxibility though, with the 3rd and 4th allowing us to either get back into the first or the second rounds if someone caught our attention.

i have got to say, your picks would work...playing madden.

this just won't happen, in a million years, doesn't make sense, June (i like him) is on the way down, Lucas got burned...by Matty(!) when we played them.

And if we draft an UT in the second round, i will give you millions and millions of dollars

sorry to be so negative, nothing personal!!
