Unknøwn
One year after turning down the Indiana job a year ago, Washington State coach Tony Bennett is heading to Virginia.According to sources close to Bennett, the 39-year-old coach accepted the job on Monday in a move that virtually came out of nowhere. The names prominently mentioned for the job were Minnesota's Tubby Smith and Oklahoma's Jeff Capel.Bennett is 68-30 in his three seasons since taking own for his father, ****. He went to the NCAA tournament each of his first two seasons before going 16-13 this past season and losing in the first round of the NIT.Bennett replaces Dave Leitao — who was forced to resign earlier in the month after a 63-60 mark in four years.Virginia was 10-18 overall this season and 4-12 in the ACC. Ethanga62890
Great hire IMO. If UVA and NCSU get back to prominence the ACC is going to be scary good.
