DLINE

Players: Abraham Babs lewis Anderson Davis Biermann Moorehead Jefferson

With this group the biggest questions are at NT and the end opposite of Abraham. First off lewis was a great young player before having 2 knee surgeries so he is such a huge question mark for our defense. I think we definatly need to bring in another nose tackle who could start or who can play significant time. Jefferson could role with Lewis but i think a good young player is needed. With the end opposite Abraham i think Davis is the starter next year. Anderson has to earn that job this year and i just dont think he will.

Draft Analysis: I think we need to take a nose tackle in the first three round to compete and will need one defensive end to compete for playing time and groom for the future.

LINEBACKERS

Players: Lofton Wire Nicholas James Gilbert Peterson

With this group your leader is a 2nd year player and the outside positions are just up for grabs. I think Nicholas has to start next year for us to improve as a defense. He is a skilled young player who tackles like a possesed man. Wire and Peterson have potential to start but i think we need to spend a high pick on a starting calliber player to help this group. Players like James and Gilbert Will need to have an impact on special teams in a group that is going through lots of change.

Draft Analysis: A high pick will go for a impact player to help this group be more than average. A late pick could be used to give some much needed depth.

CORNERBACKS

Players: Houston Grimes Jackson Hutchins Irons

This group has the most potential but the most questions. Houston shows flashes of brilliance but is not a great starter at this point. Grimes has started but is not a starter in my mind. Jackson has a good rookie year but is he a starter? I like Hutchins if he recovers to be a nickle player. I think Houston and Jackson start next year and we have a lot of competition behind them.

Draft Analysis: A mid round pick would be a nice addition to give more competition and push this group.

SAFETY

Players: Coleman Decoud Harris Fudge

Coleman is a very solid player that deserves more credit then he gets. I see him being one of the leaders on this team and really helping our young secondary to be better. Decoud will get a chance to start at SS and could be a nice player with his ability to cover a deep half of the field. Harris and Fudge our nice special teamers.

Draft Analysis: A high to mid pick will need to be spent here to give coleman and Decoud competition, and someone to backup both spots.

Overall i think we need to look to address Linebacker 1st dline second and then safety third with depth picks accross the board. On another note we also need to mix in a TE and OT help somewhere to make this team more complete.

My analysis

Dline - we need to pick a pass rushing DE in first two rounds maybe three depending if Sidbury falls

DT - If we dont pick one at 24 then i can see us getting one rounds 3-5

LB - We really dont need to get one until the 4th round, I think we have our starters in Peterson, Lofton, Nicholas

CB - YOu were right we do have young CB with potential, adding another one early does not make a lot of sense. I do think we may see one chosen in the later rounds

S - I agree that we may see on chosen in the 2nd if not the second then later for depth.

Dont forget about TE

Thanks for your analysis, you make some good points about our current roster.

I agree with most this ^. After rd one i think there is no need to take NT until the 3rd or later. I disagree with the LB's. We still don't know how Peterson or Nicholas is going to be. Those two guys are very iffy to me. I would LIKE to get a LB in an early rd, but Zach Follet it rd 4 wouldn't be bad. HATE the idea of drafting a CB early so i agree there. I bet we don't get a safety till a later rd.

DE - I see us getting a pass rush specialist in the draft to spell Abe....I see Davis and Anderson battling it out at LDE....I see the Beer Man to bulk up and provide some sacks off the bench

NT - From the news about Trey I read earlier, I see him as the starting NT and I see us getting a NT in the 3-5th range...I love Sammie Lee Hill....

UT - I see Babs continue to improve at UT, and Anderson might back him up if he gets beat out by Davis at LDE...

SLB - I see either Stephen Nicholas here with Wire backing him up

MLB - Lofton here with Gilbert behind him

WLB - Peterson here with James backing him up

CB - I see Chevis and Houston starting....I see Hutch as the NCB and I see us drafting a CB in the 3-5th range(similar to Chevis of last year)...Grimes MIGHT be the odd man out...

SS - I see Coleman here with Fudge backing him up

FS - I see DeCoud starting with Antoine Harris backing him up....
