Recommended Posts

Being dubbed as 'the greatest action movie ever', former WWE wrestler "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, known in the real world as Steve Williams, will join the cast of The Expendables. The movie already features some of the greatest action stars of the past 20 years, and includes a cast that consists of Mickey Rourke, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundren, Eric Roberts, Danny Trejo, Randy Couture and Forest Whitaker.

What the **** is Whitaker doing in there? Don't get me wrong, he is twice the actor as his nearest competitor here, but action star??? Maybe he'll be the guy manning the radio, because I don't see it otherwise. His "action" sequences in Vantage Point were horrible, you could just imagine the director calling cut a dozen times at least to let him get a breather when Forest was sprinting to save that kid.

I am glad Danny Trejo is in, that guy has been the nameless badazz in far too many good movies to not get a nod in this one.

From everything I know and have been told, Whitaker will indeed be the "man on the radio" or "leader of the group" in some form other than being one of the main action stars in the movie.

And yeah, he was so out of place in Vantage Point.

Dude should be playing the President of the United States or something, not an action star.

Van Damme was just in a great movie (JCVD) that gave me new respect for his acting abilities, I'm glad he didn't do this. While I like Statham, he'll do anything and it usually isn't very good. I cannot believe Whitaker is in this.

JCVD was a very good movie, but 'new respect for his acting abilities' may be a bit over the top. I agree, the best performance of his career by a mile, but some of his past film work did not even reach porn grade acting. Point is, that bar was pretty low going in.

Good point, but he cried on camera!

To be fair, the bad acting was probably due to bad writing, which was bad decision making by Van Damme.

But Street Fighter was awesome, I don't care what anyone says.
