Scott da 6'0
*sigh*Problem is, I don't think the Braves have the balls to not start him opening day.
Goodoleboy58
of course not... they didnt have the balls to non-tender him like they should have done
ATLBrave
We're like, 5 games into Spring training people. This guy just completely changed his approach to hitting. If this were 20 games into the season and he was batting .091, THEN I could understand, but this is Spring Training for Christ's sake. It's meant to allow players to work on new things and get them ready for the real 162 games.

I'm stating the truth in the matter. He completely changed his approach at the plate, and he's JUST now facing live hitting. Like I said, if the guy is doing this 20 games into the season, then come talk to me, but until then, quit bitching. Also, how do you even see what he looks like? They've had one game on TV, and unless you are down there, haven't seen anymore than the rest of us.

I never heard that once. That's what he's done this offseason, to become more patient, etc.

R.C. Collins
He was "altering" his stance last season also.I don't remember that but, even so. You can almost never alter a stance effectively in the middle of a season.Like I said, He will be fine. Just wait. He was already had at least 3 walks this spring. ATLBrave
He was "altering" his stance last season also. No he wasn't. I'd like to see one credible bit of info that says he was "altering" his stance last season.

ATLBrave
i also remember them saying frenchy was tinkering with his swing about all last year.Tinkering isn't completely redoing your approach. Tinkering would mean fine-tuning, not a complete overhaul. And for those who say he isn't being patient, the guy has 4 walks so far, with a couple of other favorable counts, with NO strikeouts (he was 1-11, no SOs, and 3 walks coming into today's game). R.C. Collins
please define "fine"what are your expectations"fine" means he is going to do better all around than he did last year. It doesn't mean he is going to be the best hitter on the team but, he will prove to be a valuable guy to have on the team.
ugadawg
well he sucked last year and he was sucking this year... it doesnt matter if you walk 3 times if you are 1-11.... im not trying to be hard on the guy and i wish him the best but he needs to pick it up... a home run against a Braves minor leaguer playing for Venezuela doesnt amount to a whole lot yetthat puts his OBP at .350 and that is the thing several on hear complained about last year so which is it OBP or BA. IS it hitting the ball and no SO's or no plate appearance and SO's. HE has improved to this point with his approach, but like ATLBraves has said until we get into the season it is still unknown. 270-275 avg, 20 HRs, 80-90 RBI's is my predictions
