38 posts in this topic

I'm postponing the start of the draft until Thursday morning at 6AM. It will not start Wednesday as scheduled.

Player agents, I need the list of all players won in the bidoff if that's not posted in the threads. You could post in here if you want.

How are trades in the draft approved?

What happens if a guy doesn't show up?

they will just be judged by the point chart and if they are even then they will line up. the point margin to get approved will get smaller and smaller as the draft moves on because the picks will be worth less on the chart. in past years robb has had a set point margin that you have to get in, like say for the first round it was 100 points. if your pick difference was less than 100 points then it would get passed.

for example:

if you had pick #16 (1000 points) and you were trading down to pick #24 (740 points) then the team with pick 24 would give up their 2nd round selection also (lets say #56 which is worth 340 points).

then it would be #16 (1000 points) for #24 and #56 which is worth 1080 points. so if we were doing the 100 point difference that i just picked randomly, then that trade would be accepted because it is only an 80 point difference.

and if a guy doesnt show up there is an allotted time that they are allowed before they will be skipped, and usually if they miss multiple picks they are kicked out and either robb or i will make a pick for them for the rest of the draft. at least thats how its been done in the past. but if you know you are going to be gone or are worried you might miss your pick just send in a list of players to either me or robb and if you arent here then we can just make your pick for you. rank them so that if your top guy is gone we can pick your 2nd guy and so forth. its a very good system, so ALWAYS PM US if you even think you might miss it, because it helps the pace out so much.

i hope that helps and robb i hope that was at least relatively accurate.

When are the FA bidoffs gonna be decided. That would be very important to see if you won that player. Could change your whole draft.

Working on that right now...part of the reason the draft start was delayed a day.

How long does each GM have to make his picks? I have midterms all day tomorrow.

Last year, it was 4 hours for the first 3-4 rounds. If you don't think you'll be available to make the pick, you should email a list of players to Robb in the order that you want them.

No I don't think we have started.

There is still one FA on the market until tonight at midnight among other things. It makes the most sense right now that it will start Friday. So hold your horses.

it was SUPPOSED to start today with detroit on the clock until 10 am. maybe we should just let him be on the clock until 2? i assume he has school right now so that is probably why he isnt on. h*ll, im supposed to be in class but lucky for me my class got cancelled! now im waiting for people to go to lunch with.

anyways, it was supposed to get rollin today but norwood has been mia, probably because of school.

I think we should start tomorrow. Olshanksy is still an FA until midnight and signing him could change someone's draft plan. The same goes for all of the FAs that the player agents haven't decided on.

I vote we start tomorrow.

why? its just one player, and hes not going to impact the first 5 picks of the draft or anything. it makes no sense to put it off for one player, especially since he isnt exactly a game-changing guy.

and weve already started, so the argument is pretty much irrellevent at this point. haha
