pzummo
I like the 4-3 defense. We just need stronger starters at NT and LDE. It's very very very difficult to find a good 3-4 NT. They have to be extremely strong and decently mobile, and a lot of times that translates to injury prone. There are a lot more players that fit into the 4-3 than the 3-4. The good 3-4 defenses all have a stout NT, we don't have that, and if we missed on it in the draft, our defense would be very very weak. I say stick with the 4-3 and get stronger starters/rotation at those two positions.
delaigle
Yes the players needed for the front seven are totally different, so switching over is really out of the question. Our 4-3 will be just fine once we upgrade the talent on the defense. That defense has played great considering it go so little attention in the offseason. We just need a few more pieces there. Before the draft 12 of 29 players signed were defensive playersDraft 6 of 11 players drafted were defensive playerspost draft 9 of 17 players signed were defensive playersafter the season started 9 of 17 players signed were defensive playersI think the defensive got fairly equal treatment as the offensive
Fanboy3000
We should run the 2-5.

Attention is not about the number of players, it's about the investment. We spent millions on offensive Free Agents like Michael Turner and our two highest picks were both offensive players. Our defense got attention, but it did not get anywhere close to the amount of attention our offense got. Look at it this way, our top two offensive signings were about $100 million dollars. Our top two defensive signings were about 5 million dollars (Grady Jackson and Curtis Lofton).

dozer
it's too bad you can't just flip a switch &successfully install & run the 3-4, it does not work like that.
Gritzblitz 2.0
The problem with the defense is not scheme, it's lack of talent. We have just one legitimate star on defense. Mike Smith ran the same scheme in Jacksonville with the only difference being that he had better talent on many of those defenses. We need someone on the end opposite of Abraham that can beat his man and get to the QB. Abe is getting double teamed and mugged on virtually every passing down because there is no pass rushing threat anywhere else on that line. Good QBs and RBs are just about always paid more than Defensive players, we both know the $$ will never balance out.
