Carolina 2008Big Thanks to NFLDraftParty for making these videos.Spikes is a very impressive LB. I didn't know much about him since i watched the Florida vs FSU game and saw that he was a baller. He has moved up to a pretty sure 1st rounder with his impressive play. I wouldn't be mad at all if we took him in the first. In fact he might be gone before we pick
Mr. Offseason
hes been my favorite prospect for where well be picking for a while now. i LOVE this kid. there are questions about whether or not he will declare but i really hope he does. id be elated to get him where we are right now in round 1. ELATED.with laurinaitis, maualuga and curry ahead of him HOPEFULLY he would be there where we pick in round 1, but you never know. id be fine with laurinaitis or curry where we pick but i like spikes more than any of those 3 i listed. yes, even more than curry.-Mr. OffseasonPS- If you want on the spikes bandwagon, hop on because im drivin it. Mr. Offseason
yeah, id have to say UGA is an average offense. they rack up the yards, but their point production was nowhere near what it could of been.personally id have to say that would be a direct result of their OL injuries. in the games ive watched they could get the yards but when they needed a good push on the goal line their 2nd and 3rd string guys that they were forced to play couldnt do it, so they werent very efficient at finishing drives with touchdowns. kind of like the jim mora falcons. money between the 20s but hopelessly bad in the red zone or on the goal line.thats just my personal guess at it. but they could definately move the ball and they were prone to some big plays too. thats why i say they were above average. especially if they hadnt gotten hit so hard on the OL with injuries. Zabriskie
Man, it would be awesome if we could get this guy. This draft is loaded with good LB so maybe some good ones could slide a bit. I really think that LB is the way to go with the 1st pick. Any news on Mark Herzlich? Will he come out?
Happy Mondays
I still think he is better suited as an ILB in the 3-4 or MLB in the 4-3, he is great at run stopping and blitizing. I want to see how he peforms at the combine with the speed drills, and some of those INT's were just terrible throws by the QB's.

I want to see how he peforms at the combine with the speed drills, and some of those INT's were just terrible throws by the QB's.I think in a 4-3 he'd be very good at SLB, where he can blitz and where shredding blocks really matters. I could see him at WLB, but I'm waiting for the agility drill numbers (I don't really care if he runs the 40 in 4.5 or 4.6 ... he makes up for that split second with great vision) from the combine. Another option would be MLB in a Tampa 2, where his coverage skills are needed too ... I think either as OLB or MLB, he's going to be a difference maker, because he creates turnovers.About the throws ... 90-95% of all interceptions are bad throws. falcon82
Our own metalfalcon just posted:"DD.com has been told Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes will very likely declare for the draft after he received a first round grade from N.F.L. scouts."Here's the link again: http://draftdaddy.com/blog/nfldraft.htmWell, he's my pick if available ... I know Dansby is the favorite FA target on the board ... just imagine Dansby-Lofton-Spikes ... that's like the Ravens LB's in Superbowl days. Dansby and Spikes are very good in all aspects of the game (blitzing, tackling, coverage) and Lofton has shown that he's going to be a very good MLB in this league. Also, as posted in Draftnut's topic, our main problem in run defense is that our LBs don't clean up ... Babs gets the RB to change directions, but our LBs miss.Edit: My Spikes highlight of the season is still: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rl9hpVv_vc
Happy Mondays
I think Spikes is at his best with his foot going forward, I don't know why you would want to change that and have him play OLB, when he cleary excels going downfield instead of staying in coverage like he would have to in our scheme. metalfalcon
Spikes has the ability to transition to SLB. He excels at stopping the run and blitzing the QB but he is also very fluid in pass coverage.
