Tampa v Atlanta

1 - head to head - tied at one win each

2 - division record - tied at both 3-3

3 - common games -

Tampa 3-3 (NFC south) + 4-0 (NFC north) + 1-1 (AFC west) = 8-4

Atlanta 3-3 (NFC south) + 3-0 (NFC north) + 3-1 (AFC west) = 9-4

official tie breaker list from NFL site

shouldn't Atlanta be ahead on the basis of their 9-4 record in common games ?

Yes right now, but if both teams win out it will go to "Strength of Victory" which TB holds tie breaker SEA (3-11) vs STL (2-12). But if STL beats SF (5-9) then we are tied again.

Next is "Strength of Schedule" so if PHI wins out, they beat DAL and would have a better record and thus we would be a higher seed then TB.

Also if Panthers lose @NYG and @NO we would win the division if this all played out. ;)
