So right now..

Tampa (9-5) -- vs.SD, vs.OAK

Atlanta (9-5) -- @MINN, vs.STL

Dallas (9-6) -- @PHILLY

Philly (8-5-1) -- @WASH, vs.DAL

Tiebreakers

Tampa (6-4) common games, (8-4 conference record)

Atlanta (7-4) common games, (6-4 conference record)

Dallas (7-4) conference record

Philly (6-4) conference record

Basically we are trying to beat out Tampa. The only way we can get in without beating out Tampa is if Philly beats Dallas and Washington beats Philly. If those 2 games happen correctly, Atlanta can make the playoffs no matter what if they win 1 game out of their last 2.

If Philly beats Washington or Dallas beats Philly then we must beat out Tampa OR win out..

To beat out Tampa without winning out we must beat MINN and have TB lose to SD. That clinches the common games tiebreaker over Tampa bay and puts us in.

Can anyone else think of possible scenarios? I know theres one involving SOV or SOS..

So is it possible that we can still win the division and get a a 1rst round by?? with a tapon loss and the panties losing out.I know we cant get home field through out the playoffs due to the panthers and giants facing off.

Correct. If CAR loses out (could happen with them @NYG and @NO) and TB loses one (with us of course winning out), we'd win the division and have the #2 seed. Not too likely, but stranger things have happened.

Yeah, we could get a 1st round bye, and if the Giants lose in playoffs then we could get home field if we win. Lots of ifs for this to happen but it is fun the think about. Now we just need to take care of our business.

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM OR AMONG DIVISION WINNERS

If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.

1. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker

THIS IS HOW WE CLINCH TOMMORROW

TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION

If, at the end of the regular season, two or more clubs in the same division finish with identical won-lost-tied percentages, the following steps will be taken until a champion is determined.

Two Clubs

1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).

2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.

3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.THIS IS WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WE BEAT S.D AND OAK

4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

5. Strength of victory.

6. Strength of schedule.

7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.

8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.

9. Best net points in common games.

10. Best net points in all games.

11. Best net touchdowns in all games.

Tiebreakers

Atlanta (7-4) common games, (6-4 conference record)

Dallas (7-4) conference record

Philly (6-4) conference record

.

aren't common games applied to tampa and atlanta first ?

Tampa 3-3 (NFC south) + 4-0 (NFC north) + 1-1 (AFC west) = 8-4

Atlanta 3-3 (NFC south) + 3-0 (NFC north) + 3-1 (AFC west) = 9-4

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM

Three or More Clubs

(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
