Yep
So I've been checking out the candidates at safety in case we want to replace Milloy but I can't find a good Strong Safety. There are several good Free Safeties like Moore and I don't think Taylor Mays will fall to us. So who's good? One guy I do like though is Sean Smith from Utah. He's only a Sophomore I think, but he's 6'3 213 and runs like a 4.4 - he looks pretty big too (has good size). There isn't much tape on him so I don't know how physical he is and if he's suited for the SS position, but he does have a SICK pick! I like this guy and if he hits hard, we ought to draft him. What do you guys think and what other good strong safeties are there?
1989Fan
What about Chung....He would make a good NFL SS prospect.DOnt overlook Coleman or DeCoud being our next SS too. Both can lay the wood if needed.we need 2 cover safeties in a cover 2 defense. Milloy is used up front alot because it suits his strengths and we are weaker against the run w our front 7 only.I wuld love to get a safety in FA if we want a new one. Safety is one of the cheapest ways to add talent in FA, they dont get BIG money, unless they are elite. Sean Jones or Forearm Phillips would be good for our scheme. falcon82
Just a quick question, didn't Chung play a lot "Bandit" position this season ... at least in the games I saw, it seemed like it!?Overall, I think we're in a pretty good position when it comes to safeties ... we're flexible. DeCoud could emerge next TC, we could move Von to FS (when he came out there were rumors that he might end up as FS in the NFL),Coleman to SS and draft a good CB, keep Milloy and draft a project S (or CB), sign a FA S, ... JRob215
SS = FS in the Cover 2.Pretty much. That being the case, I would take Rashad Johnson from Alabama. I saw this guy play in the SEC championship and was very impressed. He isn't the most athletic guy in the world, but has all of the intangibles and knows how to make plays. Yep
Dude, we got to draft Sean Smith - he'd be such a beast in our Cover 2.SS = FS in the Cover 2.True that, but Cover 2 safeties normally know how to hit too - think the Colts secondary. I DO NOT want to see a soft safety.

since68andcounting
How about Otis Wiley from Michigan State. Plays fast, versatile enough to play either safety, hard-hitter. Expected to be a 3rd to 5th rounder. Here's another thread regarding him:http://life.atlantafalcons.com/index.php?s...aded&start=
