David TTU
I was debating this with a friend last night:If every player in the league was taken off of their respective rosters and put into a draft pool and there was a league wide draft starting from scratch, is there any player that goes before Ryan? Taking age, potential, position, etc. into account, I believe that he goes #1. There is not a player in the league, not one, that I would trade Ryan for. Do you agree? My top 10:Matt RyanAdrian PetersonJay CutlerDeAngelo WilliamsPhillip RiversMario WilliamsSam Bradford (I'm putting him in here, he's going to be amazing)Eli ManningJoe ThomasBen Roethlisberger (I guess)
BBurgFalconFan
Ryan or AP would go number 1. I take Ryan.
pit&atlfan81
Should of put Stafford in that list. But other then that, can't really argue w/anybody else.

thempizzle
Interesting Question.I don't know, honestly.I personally don't think I would trade him for anybody in the league.AP would probably go before Ryan? Only person I could think of.

War Damn Eagle
Out of those 10, I take Ryan. AP is the best player but he likely won't play as long as Ryan and the QB position is the most important in the game.

I want to like him because he's from the same city I went to high school in (Highland Park, Dallas, TX) but I think he's too inconsistent. That may be due to his having a poor O-line, but we'll see. Great arm though.

DefenseWinzCliche
Yeah.. He might. I dont think so. But he might. I'm not putting a Stoops QB who isnt in the NFL on a list of guys balling out in the NFL though. Infact, that offense is so dominant, and his throws are so easy. And his protection is so good. I could see him just getting murdered in the NFL. I dont think he's had to play with the kind of constant pressure that NFL QBs have to play with. We'll see though. But I dont trust that scheme he's in.

Great arm though. That's fair, but he really didn't have a poor O-line as he did a very young one. FWIW, he completed 62% of his passes this year. And he's improved every year in that area. RoastBeeph
Ryan would go #1 IMO, based on his talent, youth and IT factor.

But I dont trust that scheme he's in.I see where you're coming from, he doesn't have to deal with a lot of pressure. I've said this before: there's a big difference between a "system player" and a "player who plays in a system". Michael Crabtree for example, is a player who plays in a system, not a system player. He is elite anywhere, he just gets to play at TTU. He's projected as a top 5 pick, justifiably so. There are many quarterbacks who could have succeeded at OU this year, but he's an absolute stud. Film rat, reads defenses very very well, good size, throws an excellent spiral and is, without question, the most accurate passer I've ever seen in my life, at any level. He hits his guys in stride, right on the money, every single time. Also has a real quick release.

KANE337
Sam Bradford? LMAOIn the NFL your receivers aren't going to be open by 10 yards on every single play like they are in the Big 12.

DefenseWinzCliche
I think there's a big difference in a skill player playing in a certain system, like Crabtree, and a QB. But like I said, we'll see. I just dont want him to be thought of in the same vein as guys who are already doing it.
