citadel650
As silly as it sounds, I think yesterday was the perfect game for us.We, as a team, overcame silly mistakes and beat a good football team. Even though Matt is the poster boy of this franchise (and deservedly so), this team showed there is much more talent than just at the QB position. They carried Matt yesterday. Additionally, this team showed incredible heart and grit to overcome adversity (though admittedly self-inflicted). And well, that's something you just can't coach teach. Either you're going to go out there and lay it on the line regardless of the circumstances or you're going to collapse when things don't go your way. This team kept on fighting. This team willed itself to a win. This team saw that it's city supports them. There may have been 6500 empty seats, but I don't ever remember the Dome being louder. And the more I think about it, the more I'm impressed with Matt Ryan and the way he handled himself yesterday. He didn't hand it in just because his "A" game didn't show up. Did he make mistakes? Yes. But the kid wanted the ball in his hands at the end of the game, and whether passing or running, he wasn't going to let this one slip away.We will learn from this and be a much stronger TEAM.
