freakyfalcon
wow i didnt expect him to get that much. I was thinking along the line of 3-4 years around 10-15 million.
Statick
Alright! If this is true, then he deserves it.Question is, are we still going to go after another DT in the next draft? I feel we still need at least one. I know its going to depend on Tre's recovery and if Big Grady is still going to be with us.

burnwood
Wow i think thats a little much for babs....he hasnt been making quite that many plays for that amount of money, im kinda scared to see how much roddy's contract will be. crankdatfalcon
babs is not worth 5 mil a year..we could of gave that up to albert haynesworth.

TheDirtyWordII
When I had put together my off-season plan last year, I had Babs signing a 5 year $16-17M contract. But he's broken through this year IMO and along with the Falcons success, this contract seems reasonable. Similar to the one Jay Ratliff with the Cowboys signed. He leads the NFL in TFL...or he did a couple of weeks ago at least, so he's no worse than top 5 haha, guess what he was last year? #3...and he was a backup. Dude is a force, we overlook his performance because of John Abraham's
bossFALCON™
babs is not worth 5 mil a year..we could of gave that up to albert haynesworth.haynesworth is probably going to become the highest paid defensive player in the league if he hits FA. babs contract probably wont even be HALF of what haynesworth gets paid. Statick
babs is not worth 5 mil a year..we could of gave that up to albert haynesworth. And he would laugh in your face for that amount, too.
Tandy
babs is not worth 5 mil a year..we could of gave that up to albert haynesworth.Where'd you get that from? He wouldn't take a 45mil 5 year deal. They ended up signing him for 7.25 mil for 1 year.

sporkdevil
Babz has been a good DT. I'm glad he got his money. Haynesworth is great, but is going to cost $10 million a year, at least.

V-Town Falcon
haynesworth is probably going to become the highest paid defensive player in the league if he hits FA. babs contract probably wont even be HALF of what haynesworth gets paid.Yea, I really wanted Haynesworth in da offseason, but the titans would probably "Franchise" him anyway. As for Babs, good amount. At least we didn't overpay him like the Raiders did with Tommy Kelly, seven year, 50.5 million?!?
millenium falcon
that sounds fair to me. the tommy kelly contract was rediculous. i'm sure they regret it now.
formul8or
That's kind of a lot for him I think. I hope we still get a DT to put beside him.
putnam6
wow i didnt expect him to get that much. Magic Man
I keep thinking about how funny the thought is of us getting Haynesworth for this much money.... Would a mask and a gun be involved?
rudy
I think we'll draft a DE instead. We'll have Trey Lewis back next year plus we can move Jamal into DT from times to times. We need another speed rusher at DE more.Mark my words, we'll draft a DE before we'll get another DT in the draft.
jidady
This is fair market value, folks. You're kidding yourself if you think he would have gotten less on the open market. He just left money on the table to re-sign with the Falcons.
